“…Em pesquisa realizada para avaliar a percepção dos cirurgiões-dentistas que atuam na atenção primária, sobre as possíveis razões que justificavam o atraso na chegada do paciente com câncer bucal aos setores de atenção à saúde de maior complexidade, constatou-se que estavam associados: à falha na identificação precoce, à ausência de trabalho multidisciplinar, à desvalorização da necessidade de corresponsabilização pela própria saúde por parte da comunidade e à deficiência da rede de atenção no que tange a qualidade da comunicação entre profissionais de diferentes níveis de atenção 11 . Vários fatores podem influenciar a qualidade na assistência aos pacientes com câncer, tais como: agilidade no atendimento, disponibilidade de recursos e de profissionais, entretanto nada é mais importante que o diagnóstico precoce 4 entendimento, a probabilidade e a confiança para realização do autoexame.…”
