Objective: to understand the attributes formulation for the professionalism education in the teaching of the elderly health care during the nursing graduation. Methods: this is a qualitative study carried out in four educational institutions to evaluate educational planning documents of the elderly health subject. The lexical type content analysis was used through the Lexical Contextual Analysis software of a Set of Text Segments. Results: two discursive classes emerged: Perspective for theoretical-practical learning and Content-based teaching. The categories show an educational model anchored in the transmission of content with little emphasis on teaching by competence and training of skills essential for the development of the nurse professional identity in the elderly´s health. Conclusion: in the educational planning documents, it is not possible to observe the attributes for the professionalism education in the formation of an identity profile in a clear and structured way focused on the elderly´s health. Objetivo: compreender a formulação de atributos para a formação de profissionalismo no ensino do cuidado à saúde do idoso na graduação em enfermagem. Métodos: estudo qualitativo realizado em quatro instituições de ensino para avaliar documentos de planejamento educacional da disciplina saúde do idoso. Foi utilizada a análise de conteúdo, do tipo lexical, por meio do software Análise Lexical Contextual de um Conjunto de Segmentos de Texto. Resultados: emergiram duas classes discursivas: Perspectiva para aprendizagem teórico-prática e Ensino baseado em conteúdo. As categorias evidenciam um modelo educacional ancorado na transmissão de conteúdos com pouca ênfase no ensino por competências e formação de habilidades fundamentais para o desenvolvimento da identidade profissional do/a enfermeiro/a na saúde do idoso. Conclusão: nos documentos de planejamento educacional não é possível observar de maneira clara e estruturada os atributos para o desenvolvimento de profissionalismo na formação de um perfil identitário voltado à saúde do idoso. Objective: to understand, from the perspective of complexity, the factors related to communication for the management of the nursing care before the death and dying of hospitalized people. Method: the Complex Thought and Grounded Theory were used as theoretical and methodological references, respectively. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews, from May 2015 to January 2016, with three sample groups, totaling 41 participants: nurses, nursing technicians and members of the multidisciplinary team of a public hospital in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The data analysis followed the steps of open, axial and selective coding. Results: the management of the nursing care before the terminality and death involves a complex process of communication among patient, relatives and professionals, in which the interactions are permeated by the meanings of the end of life. Subjective, educational, sociocultural and institutional conditions influence nurses' interactions, generating order/disorder in the management of care. Conclusion: communication represents an important challenge for nursing management because it involves different actors, given the context of uncertainties and affectivities in the process of death and dying. It is important to emphasize the importance of the nurses being open to communication with these people, because this process requires complex actions regarding the demand for training and permanent education, as well as interdisciplinary action to guarantee humanization and comprehensive care.

RESUMEN Objetivo: adaptar el modelo de Kristen M. Swanson para el cuidado de enfermería en adultas mayores, enfocado en sus necesidades de salud, tomando como referencia la valoración integral y la interpretación de su vivencia. Método: el estudio fue cualitativo con enfoque hermenéutico. Se entrevistaron diez adultas mayores, de 65 a 84 años de edad, que asistían la Casa de Día en Toluca, a quienes se les aplicaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a profundidad, las cuales se transcribieron, codificaron y agruparon en las dimensiones de análisis de los contenidos centrales de cada unidad temática. Se tomó como referencia el círculo hermenéutico de Heidegger para la comprensión e interpretación de los códigos sustantivos. El análisis fue de contenido mediante la técnica del discurso. Resultados: son seis las categorías de cuidado identificadas en las acciones terapéuticas que intervienen para el logro del bienestar. El acompañamiento familiar, la esperanza, el movimiento, la orientación en salud, el diálogo terapéutico y el amor son factores que propician el bienestar de las mujeres mayores. La disposición de las categorías se organizaron en campos semánticos de donde emergieron tres dimensiones: la de ser mujer, adulta mayor y estrategias de afrontamiento, y el cuidado de enfermería. A partir del análisis hermenéutico se construyó el Modelo de Kristen Swanson para el cuidado de enfermería en adultas mayores con sus cinco procesos de cuidado: Mantener las creencias; El conocer; El estar con; El hacer por; y El permitir o posibilitar. Conclusión: el modelo de cuidado dirigido a mujeres mayores se fundamenta en: el diálogo, esperanza, movimiento y orientación de salud centrado en el ejercicio de la autonomía.
