A umbu-cajazeira é uma das frutíferas nativas mais exploradas na região semiárida brasileira, já que seus frutos são bastante procurados. Neste sentido, objetivou-se avaliar o tratamento de planta matriz com zinco e enraizamento de estacas de umbu-cajazeira. O experimento foi conduzido sob delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com nove tratamentos, com níveis pré-determinados pela matriz "Composto Central de Box" referente às doses de zinco (0; 5,8; 30; 34,2 e 40 mg L-1) e combinações com as doses de AIB (0; 872,35; 3000; 5127,65 e 6000 mg L-1), e quatro repetições. O tratamento de plantas matrizes com zinco não afetou o percentual de estacas brotadas, número, comprimento e diâmetro de brotações, o enraizamento e a produção de massa seca de estacas de umbu-cajazeira; O ácido indolbutírico promove o enraizamento de estacas de umbu-cajazeira, sendo que, a concentração máxima de 6000 mg L-1 de AIB proporciona os maiores percentuais de enraizamento adventício, com 43,75% de estacas enraizadas.

Drimys brasiliensis, popularly known as cataia or casca-d'anta, is a tree species native to the Atlantic Forest and belonging to the family Winteraceae. Due to its seeds have dormancy due to embryonic immaturity, the present work aimed to evaluate the viability of the mini-cutting technique in D. brasiliensis in different seasons of collection of the propagules. Mini-cuttings from seedlings sprouts previously produced by conventional cutting were collected at six different times (December/2015, February/2016, April/2016, June/2016, August/2016 and October/2016), made 6-8 cm long, with bevel cut at the base and rectum at the apex, keeping two leaves with their area halved. The experiment was carried out in a completely randomized design with 4 replicates and 14 mini-cuttings per experimental unit. The mini-cuttings were planted in tubes with substrate containing vermiculite and carbonized rice husk (1:1) and kept in a heated greenhouse. After 120 days, the percentage of rooted mini-cuttings, number of roots per mini-cuttings, length of the three largest roots by mini-cuttings, percentage of mini-cuttings with callus, live, dead, with shoots and leaves that maintained their original leaves were evaluated. Rooting percentages of mini-cuttings were greater than 75% regardless of the season of the year in which the propagules were collected. The adventitious root formation of D. brasiliensis occurs indirectly, from the callus tissue formed at the base of the mini-cuttings. The mini-cuttings technique is recommended for the production of seedlings of the species, at any seasons of the year.

A propagação vegetativa por estaquia é uma técnica muito utilizada, por permitir a produção de mudas em espécies que possuem uma baixa taxa de germinação e viabilidade das sementes, além de permitir homogeneidade no plantio. Contudo, na propagação por estaquia, diversos fatores devem ser considerados, e há uma grande quantidade de variáveis a serem escolhidas. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar uma revisão sobre o estado da arte de espécies arbustivo-arbóreas propagadas pela técnica de estaquia comparando os resultados obtidos com diferentes estações do ano, tipo de estaca (herbácea, semilenhosa e lenhosa) e presença ou ausência de folhas nas estacas. A partir dessas características, buscou-se determinar uma tendência nos resultados, a fim de simplificar posteriores escolhas na realização de novos estudos com estaquia para espécies arbustivo-arbóreas. A busca foi realizada na base de dados da SCIELO e no portal de periódicos da CAPES, nos quais foram utilizados quatro conjuntos de palavras-chaves em inglês, sendo estes: “propagation and native species”, “propagation and number of leaves”, “propagation and season” e “propagation and types of cutting”. Depois do refinamento e seleção dos artigos, chegou-se em 64 artigos para serem utilizados no estudo. Na revisão realizada, foi possível observar uma prevalência de resultados positivos quando utilizadas estacas herbáceas com folhas na primavera ou verão, sendo então estas variáveis recomendadas para a propagação de espécies arbóreas por estaquia.
