Immunoexpression of PPAR-? and Osteocalcin Proteins for Bone Repair of Critical-Size Defects Treated with Fragmented Autogenous Abdominal Adipose Tissue Graft

Abstract: Immunoexpression of PPAR-γ and osteocalcin proteins was evaluated for bone repair of critical-size defects (CSDs), created in rat calvaria (n=42) and treated with fragmented abdominal autogenous adipose tissue graft. Three groups (n=14) were formed: C (control - blood clot), AB (autogenous bone) and AT (fragmented adipose tissue). The groups were divided into subgroups (n=7) for euthanasia at 30 and 90 days. Histological and immunohistochemical analyses were performed. Data were subjected to descriptive statis… Show more

“…The use of BFPG and adipose tissue-derived stem cells (ADSCs) has been the focus of both in vitro (12) and in vivo (13,14) studies. ADSCs have become the most popular type of adult stem cells for studies in the fields of soft tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.…”

“…In accordance with this, each slide was treated with negative and positive controls and then analyzed under a light microscope at ×20 original magnification. A semiquantitative score system was used to evaluate immunostaining data as follows: − = 0% to 10% staining immunopositivity; + = staining 10% to 25%; ++ = staining 25% to 50%; +++ = staining 50% to 70%; and ++++ = staining >75% 26 …”
