“…Many fields in dentistry have used OT to exploit the advantages of ozone, particularly its effects on wound healing and antimicrobial properties (Akdeniz et al, ; Alpan, Toker, & Ozer, ; Ozdemir, Toker, Balcı, & Ozer, ; Taşdemir, Taşdemir et al, ; Yılmaz et al, ). A few studies (Al Habashneh, Alsalman, & Khader, ; Yılmaz et al, ) have examined OT in non‐surgical periodontal therapy, but there has been no split‐mouth study of OT in periodontal therapy.…”

“…Insufficient work has been carried out to show a relationship between exposure to ozone application and calvarial defect in rats (11,14,15,64). Kan et al aimed to compare the efficacy of hyperbaric oxygen and systemic ozone, used separately and in combination, on the healing of bone defects.…”

“…Lektemur Alpan et al [38] used diabetic rat calvarial defects with xenograft, and they concluded that the ozone accelerated bone morphogenetic protein-2 and osteocalcin positivity followed by accelerated xenograft resorption and enhanced bone regeneration.…”
