Ruptures and interruptions in supply chains (SC) can cause large financial losses and undermine the reputation of firms. In this respect, there is growing interest among researchers in the theme of supply chain risk management (SCRM). SCRM involves analysis carried out in various steps. However, researchers diverge over the number and content of these steps. In light of this problem, the aim of the present study was to analyze whether it is possible to apply the ISO 31000 standard as a systematic procedure for SCRM. And, if so, how the standard can be implemented in the SCRM context, as a framework in a specific company. Through a systematic literature review, we compared and harmonized the risk management steps proposed by researches about SCRM. Additionally we developed a pathway to identify and prioritize which ISO 31000:2009 risk assessment tools and techniques are supposed to integrate a procedure for SCRM, based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), exemplified in an automotive supply chain. Based on the research findings, we infer that ISO 31000 can be used beneficially as a standardized method to perform SCRM, as long as tools and techniques are selected according to the company needs and business characteristics.

Choosing a Water Distribution Pipe Rehabilitation Solution Using the Analytical Network Process Method

One of the major challenges faced by water companies around the world is the high level of water losses in distribution networks. This research paper presents a case study on the choice of the best technical solution for the rehabilitation of the water distribution network pipelines of Cluj-Napoca City, Romania. The analytical network process (ANP) method was used as the selection method, and calculations were performed using the Super Decisions 2.6.0 software. In the case study, five alternatives were analyzed based on seven criteria. The criteria taken into account in the decision-making included pipe diameter, pipe length, specific accomplishment duration, lifespan, pressure losses, price, and installation conditions, while the following methods were considered as rehabilitation alternatives: Compact Pipe, Slipline, Subline, Swagelining, and Pilot Pipe. Based on the highest global priority, we recommend choosing the Subline alternative as the method of rehabilitating water distribution pipes from asbestos cement pipes in the case of Cluj-Napoca City, Romania.

Background and Aims Primary care and the use of a referral system are essential components of any health system. The aim of this study was to investigate and identify the challenges affecting the performance of the primary health‐care system in Iran. Methods This qualitative study was carried out consisting of 14 interviews with experts and those familiar with the primary care system and its function. Purposive and snowball sampling was used to identify the samples. The recorded files were transcribed and entered into the MAXQDA‐11 software to be analyzed. The conventional content analysis approach was used for data analysis. Results The findings of this study included 72 initial codes classified into 7 main themes and 18 subthemes. Seven main themes consist of governance, manpower, resources, financial management, services delivery, trans‐sectional, and social and cultural. The greatest challenges for Iran's primary health care (PHC) system are governance and human resources problems. Conclusion Various dimensions of Iran's primary care system especially governance and human resources are facing several challenges that threaten its performance and efficiency. Policymakers and planners must address challenges fundamentally and do not get satisfied with superficial reforms that have short‐term and soothing effects. In this regard, enhancing governance functioning can profoundly solve numerous challenges of Iran's primary care system. We also suggest the strengthening of intersectoral collaboration.
