Everyday nursing work inevitably involves conflict. Healthcare workers may experience this as a result of diverse human beliefs, knowledge, values, or emotions. In order to effectively manage and lead the nursing staff in hospitals, a multitasking leader with a wide range of abilities is needed. Multiple elements, such as the leader's personality and overall workplace conditions, might influence effective managerial leadership. Effective management leadership is affected by multiple factors, such as the personality of the leader, the general conditions in the workplace, and the quality characteristics of employees. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and conflict management strategies from the head nurses' perspective. MethodsThe study utilized a quantitative, cross-sectional correlation design. Twenty-one hospitals in the Aseer region that are affiliated with the Saudi Ministry of Health were included in this study. A non-probability sample consisted of 210 head nurses who have at least one year of experience working as head nurses or with managerial experience. An online questionnaire involving three sections -socio-demographic, trait emotional intelligence, and conflict management -were used. ResultsThe study revealed that the level of emotional intelligence was average and that the level of conflict management strategies was high. Approximately three-quarters of the sample studied were female (78.1%), and for an educational level, the majority of participants had a bachelor's degree (62.4%). Regarding the working departments, 34.3% were in general wards, while 23.3% worked in critical care. Approximately twothirds (62%) of the sample were married; 63.8% of the participants were Saudi, and 49% had fewer than three children. Also, gender identity and emotional intelligence were significantly correlated statistically. Likewise, the level of monthly income, marital status, and nationality are significantly correlated with conflict management strategies. ConclusionsIn the current study, emotional intelligence has no statistical correlation with strategies for resolving conflicts. While the relationship between subdomains of both main variables was negative, that ruled out an important positive relationship between cooperation and well-being. Teaching nurse managers about emotional intelligence might help them more effectively handle conflicts at work. Likewise, employing emotional intelligence practices requires nurse managers to lead by example, teaching their teams how to regulate their emotions and resolve frequent workplace conflicts.

Interaksi yang tinggi dalam profesi perawat menjadi peluang dalam munculnya konflik dalam pekerjaan. Perselisihan internal atau eksternal akibat adanya perbedaan gagasan, nilai, atau perasaan antara dua orang atau lebih merupakan konflik yang tidak terlepas dalam kehidupan perawat. IGD adalah sebuah departemen yang terdiri dari berbagai jenis profesi, dalam melakukan pelayanan kepada pasien. Mobilitas yang tinggi dan kerjasama dari berbagai pihak membuat konflik sering terjadi antara staf. Oleh karena itu peneliti ingin melakukan studi literatur yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi manajemen konflik dengan pendekatan kolaborasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode literatur review, dengan menggunakan database ProQuest, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Sage Journals dan Scopus. Hasil pencarian didapatkan 176 jurnal setelah dianalisis lebih lanjut dan didapatkan 14 artikel yang ditelaah dengan kriteria membahas topik konsep manajemen konflik, peran dan fungsi manajer dalam konflik, manajemen konflik kolaborasi, konflik kolaborasi, kolaborasi dalam konflik, faktor yang mempengaruhi strategi pemilihan gaya manajemen konflik dengan kolaborasi. Hasil dari studi literatur ini didapatkan bahwa Penyelesaian konflik dilakukan berdasarkan karakteristik serta persepsi seseorang terhadap konflik, gaya kolaborasi dipilih untuk menyelesaikan konflik secara terbuka satu sama lain dan membicarakan permasalahan yang ada. Perbedaan gaya manajemen konflik dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor seperti asumsi mengenai konflik, kecerdasan emosional, kepribadian individu, pola komunikasi dalam interaksi konflik dan keterampilan komunikasi.

Objetivo: Analisar as práticas associadas à atuação do enfermeiro como gerente de Unidade na Atenção Primária à Saúde. Métodos: Estudo multicêntrico, quantitativo transversal, realizado em municípios de duas Macrorregiões de Saúde do estado de Santa Catarina, com a participação de 216 enfermeiros, destes 152 atuam no gerenciamento das Unidades Básicas de Saúde. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de questionários do tipo survey e os dados passaram por análise estatística analítica e inferencial com auxílio de software. Resultados: Dentre os enfermeiros que atuavam no gerenciamento do serviço (70,37%), apenas dois não realizavam atendimento aos usuários. Houve associação significativa da variável atuar como enfermeiro gerente com: considerar as condições crônicas como o principal motivo de busca por atendimento na Unidade, usar Telessaúde e Procedimentos Operacionais Padrão como fonte para tomada de decisão, e participar do Conselho Local de Saúde. Conclusão: O enfermeiro assume funções assistenciais e de gerência da Unidade Básica de Saúde concomitantemente, conflito potencialmente emergente na atual Política Nacional de Atenção Básica. Assim, é preciso avançar na valorização profissional e no reconhecimento das práticas de gerenciamento, bem como na definição clara dos papéis atribuídos a cada função.
