Growth and nutrient uptake by potted foliage anthurium

Abstract: Nutrient uptake study is important to understand the plant nutritional requirements during its growth and to identify periods of increased nutrient demand and, thus to establish fertilization program. The objective was to determine the growth and the nutrient uptake by potted foliage anthurium. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse and the experimental design was completely randomized with ten times of plant sampling (0; 30; 60; 90; 120; 150; 180; 240; 300; and 360 days after transplanting) and five r… Show more

“…However, ornamental plants normally demand potassium in higher quantity than nitrogen. For potted Anthurium maricense, the accumulation of nutrients followed a descending order: K > N > Ca > Mg > P ¼ S > Mn > Fe > Zn > B > Cu (Taniguchi et al 2018).…”

“…Morphological characterization is performed using plant descriptors of different botanical species/ families, elaborated and/ or adapted from known agronomic species. Phenological and agronomic aspects (Taniguchi et al, 2018;Campos et al, 2019;Artur et al, 2022), indication of potential use as pot plant, cut flower or landscape (Morais et al, 2017;Maia et al, 2020) are also evaluated.…”

“…For the other treatments, the accumulation was Fe > Cu > Mn > Zn > B (Table 5). Information about rose bushes nutrient uptake is essential for rose growers, as it is possible to understand the nutritional needs of plants and establish a fertilization program (Taniguchi et al, 2018). *Averages followed by the same letters in columns are not significantly different at 5% of probability level by the Tukey test.…”
