Purpose This study was conducted to evaluate peer bullying, internet addiction, and psychological adaptation capabilities of students in the 9–15 age group. Design and Methods The study was performed as cross‐sectional‐descriptive research with 880 students included in the research sample. Findings One‐fourth of the students in the 9–15 age group suffered from psychological adaptation issues, one‐fifth suffered from bullying issues, and 16.5% suffered from internet addiction. Conclusion There is a need for early determination in risky age groups, a collaboration between parents and teachers in schools, and extended social studies on the prevention of peer bullying and internet addiction.

Background. Healthcare systems are very concerned about childhood obesity, which continues to be a barrier to medical innovation. Over the last three decades, the frequency of childhood overweight/ obesity has increased significantly. Children spend a significant amount of time in front of electronic devices such as cell phones, games, computers, and television that is linked to a decreased physical activity and weight gain. The purpose of the study was to find the association between watching screen media and obesity in school-aged children from Zakho. Materials and methods. This is a cross-sectional, case-control, face-to-face survey study. All students aged 9–15 years from different schools were invited to complete the questionnaire. Well-trained medical students collected the anthropometric measurements of weight and height. Results. A total of 500 students between 9 and 15 years were interviewed. Approximately 72 % of them were males and 28 % were females. There was a significant association between a history of eating while watching screens and obesity (P = 0.003), as well as between the average number of hours spent daily using a computer and obesity (P = 0.016). Conclusions. In summary, this study supported the link between screen usage and childhood obesity in school-aged children. As a result, it is vital to create health promotion initiatives that emphasize a healthy 24-hour period, which includes a balanced amount of time spent engaging in physical activity, watching television, and sleeping.

The problem in the thematic learning of class V Elementary School is caused by conventional teaching methods and does not use engaging learning media so that students feel bored to take part in learning activities. This research is a follow-up to the results of the validity test and practicality test of interactive multimedia developed using the Android Operating System. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of android-based interactive multimedia. The method used to collect data is observation, interviews, and tests. The instrument used to collect data is a test question. Data were analyzed using a t-test. In previous studies, the validity of android-based interactive multimedia was tested through expert validity tests and practicality tests through individual trials. The effectiveness of using Android-based interactive multimedia was tested by giving a pretest-posttest in the form of an objective test consisting of 20 questions with 12 students. The effectiveness test results of student learning outcomes from the pretest and post-test data showed an increase from the average before using android-based interactive learning media. Based on these data, it can be said that interactive multimedia based on android thematic learning to improve student learning outcomes in students is valid, practical and effective for use in the learning process. Thus, it can be said that the Android-based interactive multimedia developed effectively improves the learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary school students.
