“…This leads us to reflect on the moment of surgery, which can influence its outcomes on hearing and speech skills with the second CIespecially in children with sequential bilateral CI. 49 The literature agrees that P300 results furnish strong evidence of complex interactions between speech intelligibility, [37][38][39] neural processing, 36,38 verbal working memory, and subjective classifications of hearing effort in CI users. 25,30 Another important factor to consider regarding the use of P300 testing is the advantage in associating objective tests (such as electrophysiological ones) with behavioral tests (such as speech perception ones).…”

“…3 Children implanted bilaterally present the best performances in speech perception compared to the adaptation of bilateral hearing aids (HA) and bimodal adaptation (HA and CI). 27 The offer of the service that makes the CI device available represents a potential of the Health Care Network.…”

“…CI companies are currently working with HA manufacturers to provide communication benefits to individuals with hearing loss. There is abundant scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of CIs in aural rehabilitation [45][46][47][48][49][50][51][52][53]. In 2009, Laske et al [47] assessed the subjective and objective benefits of CIs in adults.…”
