Objectives: The purpose of this study was to build a conceptual framework of bullying in nursing workplace. Methods: A comprehensive literature review was conducted to identify concepts in relation to bullying in nursing workplace by searching research articles published between 1995 and 2013. In-depth interviews were performed with 14 nurses who experienced bullying at work. The Hybrid Model was applied for concept analysis which led to identify attributes of bullying in nursing workplace. Results: The antecedents of bullying in nursing workplace were offenders, victims, and administrators. They create negative effects on organizational culture and imbalance of power between authority and subordinate workers in the organization. Bullying in nursing workplace that occurred in the forms of inefficient organizational culture, imbalance of power, and the vulnerability of individual or individuals and groups of individuals formed an unstable dynamic. It is expressed as verbal and nonverbal bullying, work-related bullying, and external threats. Consequently, workplace bullying causes physical and psychological withdrawal and increased negative energy in an organization. Conclusions: Workplace bullying consisted of verbal abuse, alienation, unreasonable work processes, restriction on work-related rights, and external threat.
Eighteen commercial laver (Porphyra sp.) products were purchased from Korean market and were monitored for their microbial contamination, pre-decontamination, and luminescence properties. The laver samples showed considerable variation in their microbial contamination, from 10-10 7 CFU/g of total aerobic counts, <10-10 2 CFU/g of coliforms in 4 dried laver samples, and <10-10 6 CFU/g of yeasts and molds except in 3 samples. In addition, 10 2 CFU/g of Bacillus cereus was found in one sample. DEFT/APC analysis was suitable for demonstrating whether the samples were pre-decontaminated or not, with DEFT/APC values lower than 2.0 log for non-heated samples and 1.0-8.5 log for heatprocessed samples. In photostimulated luminescence (PSL) calibration, 15 samples irradiated at 1 kGy showed positive (irradiated) values more than 5000 PCs. Sugar profiles of 45 Korean honey samples (15 acacia, 15 multi-floral, 10 chestnut, and 5 artificial honey samples), which are commercially available in the Korean markets, were analyzed using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) through TMS-oxime and TMS-methoxime derivatization. The average invert sugar contents in acacia, multi-floral, chestnut, and artificial honey samples were 71.2±1.05, 68.7±3.26, 63.2±1.85, and 68.0±2.10%, respectively. Fourteen disaccharides were detected from the samples, and the average content of major disaccharides was higher in order of turanose, maltulose, maltose, trehalulose, kojibiose, isomaltose, and nigerose. The average content of total disaccharides was highest in chestnut and lowest in acacia. Seven trisaccharides were detected from the samples, and the average content of trisaccharides was the highest in artificial honeys, which had high erlose content. The total content of disaccharides and trisaccharides was highest (16.0±2.03%) in chestnut honey and lowest (9.70±1.75%) in acacia honey.
