The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of high-heeled shoe on the quiet standing and gait balance. Twenty women (mean height: 161.6±3.3 cm., mean body mass: 53.8 ±6.3 kg, mean age: 23.8±2.7 yrs..) who were without history or complain of lower limb pain took part in this study. They were asked to stand quietly on a force platform for 30 sec and walk on it at their preferred walking speed (mean speed 3.14±0.5 km/hr.) with wearing three different high-heeled shoe, 3, 7, 9 cm high for collecting data. Data were randomly recorded to collect two trials for quiet standing and five trials for walking The parameters to have been analyzed for comparison between three conditions of the height of high-heeled shoe were COP(Center of Pressure) range, COP velocity, sway area, and free moment on the static balance and COP range, COP velocity, and free moment on the dynamic balance. In this study, high-heel height affected on the COP range and velocity in the ante-posterior direction during walking, dynamic balance, but didn't affect on the quiet standing, static balance.
The purpose of this study was to identify biomechanical characteristics of glide and delivery motion of In-Sung Hwang, player who is a member of the national team among the finalists in the men's shot put at the 2010 National Sports Festivals. Three-Dimensional motion analysis using a system of 3 video cameras at a sampling frequency of 60 Hz was performed for this study. During the glide and delivery phase the results showed following characteristics; 1) The glide type was suitable for the short-long technique, but the trajectory of shot at the glide and delivery phase showed a different trajectory pattern with "S-shaped" type of elite players due to many deviating from central axis of the APSS(athletic-plus shot system). 2) Left knee was more flexed during failed trials compared to successful trials but COG was higher. The purpose of this study was to analyze the kinematic characteristics of javelin to compare the characteristics between world elite athletes and local male athletes. The subjects selected 9 athletes out of total 13 athletes recorded more than 65 m in the preliminary and main competition participated in the 93rd National Sports Festival held in 2012. Three-Dimensional motion analysis using a system of 4 video cameras(Sony HXR-MC2000) at a sampling frequency of 60 fields/s was performed for this study. The Kwon3D 3.1 was used to obtain the three dimensional coordinates about the top, grip, end of javelin. And the kinematic factors of javelin calculated using Matlab2009a program. The resultant speed of javelin that affects directly to the record of performance showed 26.08 m/s indicated lower speed of about 2-3 m/s than world elite athletes. The release point appeared to have been made at the high of 1.79±0.07 m of 99.8% of the height of the athletes. In terms of release angle, it was indicated average 33.0±3.81 o lower release angle compared to the world elite athletes. The attitude angle(up & down tilt angle, X axis) related to javelin indicated average 38.5±4.96 o , its related attack angle average 5.5±5.11 o , and yaw angle(sideslip, side attack angle) average 15.7±8.48 o .
