Purpose:The purpose of this study was to review research papers on structural equation models for hospital nurses' turnover intentions, and to identify the factors that influence these intentions. Methods: Twenty-four research papers on structural equation models for hospital nurses' turnover intentions were identified for systematic review. Results: All 24 papers assessed nurses' turnover intentions in general hospitals and university hospitals. A total of 36 indicators and 105 items were used to measure turnover intention. Turnover intention was positively related with 10 variables, and negatively with 17 variables. Organizational commitment, job satisfaction, job stress, burnout, organizational culture, and empowerment were found to have significant direct and indirect effects on nurses' turnover intentions. Structural equation models in 23 of the 24 research papers showed high compatibility with the data. The models accounted for 20.1% 68.0% of total variances. Conclusion: The study findings show recent trends in nurses' turnover intentions, and indicate directions for future research.
The aim of this study is to identify the effects of the correction exercise program on femoral intercondylar distance, Q-angle and plantar pressure in undergraduate with genu varum. A experimental study with a randomized controlled trial design was used. Thirty subjects with genu varum were allocated in two groups: the experimental group (n=15) or the control group (n=15). The experimental group conducted correction exercise program for 30 minutes a day, 5 times a week, for 6 weeks, while the control group did not perform any exercise. The correction exercise program group showed a significant decreased femoral intercondylar distance, plantar pressure of M 4, M 5 (Metatarsal 4, 5). Also the correction exercise program group significantly increased Q-angle, plantar pressure of Toe 2-5 and M 1, M 2, M 3 (Metatarsal 1, 2, 3) (Rt, Lt) (p<.05). Thus, we suggested that the correction exercise program may be suitable intervention to improve normal alignment in undergraduate with genu varum.
: Stress activates hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and subsequently increases the systemic levels of glucocorticoids. It also inhibits the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) from hypothalamus. Korean ginseng (Panax ginseng CA Meyer) has been proven as an anti-stress agent. However, most of the anti-stress effects of ginseng on stresses such as immobilization, electronic foot shock, and cold swim, which subsequently cause oxidative damage in brain, were obtained by using ginseng extract or ginseng total saponin. Moreover, anti-stress and anti-oxidative effects of ginseng were demonstrated by determination of enzyme or hormone levels but not mRNA as well as transcriptome. Further studies on transcriptome, proteomics, and systems biology as well as signal transduction would be required to elucidate molecular action mechanisms of ginseng on stresses.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
