Objectives The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between emotion regulation dimensions and marital satisfaction along with assessing the moderating role of gender factor. Methods This is a descriptive/correlational study. Participants were 156 married couples living in Tehran, Iran who were recruited using a convenience sampling method. They were measured using the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS) and Dyadic Adjustment Scale (DAS). In order to explore dyadic relationships, data were analyzed using the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model (APIM). Results Both in husbands and wives, the emotion regulation ability was predictive of their marital satisfaction. Wives' scores in all 6 dimensions of emotion regulation and their husbands' scores in all dimensions except in "awareness" was positively associated with their marital satisfaction. Acceptance of emotions, goal-directed behavior, impulse control, and access to regulation strategies in men predicted their wives' marital satisfaction, while impulse control, access to regulation strategies, and understanding of emotions in women predicted their husbands' marital satisfaction. The results did not support the moderating role of gender. Conclusion The findings highlight the importance of focus on emotion regulation and its multiple dimensions in assessment and treatment of problems in couples. The use of dyadic data analysis is recommended to better understand the interpersonal phenomena.

Diabetes mellitus is the most common metabolic diseases. It is estimated that worldwide prevalence will reach to 21% in 2050. In Iran the prevalence of diabetes is estimated to be about 14%. It divided in two categories: type I and type II. Diabetes type I is due to absolute deficiency of insulin secretion, and type II characterized by resistances to insulin and its inadequate compensation. The aim of diabetes treatment is regulation of blood glucose, lipid and blood pressure to prevent or postpone its complication. Diet, physical activity and medication are three cornerstones in treatment of diabetes. Endurance and resistance and combination exercise are useful in control of diabetes and its dangerous complication. A session of aerobic exercise has shown to increase insulin sensitivity for up to 24-72 hours. Positive effect of exercise is due to its effect on weight loose, increase of Glut4 in muscle, blood flow and decrease in hepatic glucose production. Prolong resistance exercise improve insulin sensitivity, glucose tolerance and increase skeletal muscle mass and its glucose deposition. Exercise prescription for diabetic patients must be done according to their inability, orthopedic limitation and complication of diabetes, so a team of specialist is needed to determine the level and protocol of exercise.

Introduction: Asthma is a chronic inflammatory and reversible disease of airways. Change in Lifestyle by increasing obesity and decreasing physical activity is the main cause of its high prevalence. Asthmatic patients are less fit than their healthy control subjects. Regular exercise improves fitness in Asthmatic patients and reduces the symptoms of the disease. Hence, this article by utilizing the scientific evidence, reviewed the beneficial effects of exercise in patients with asthma diseases. Materials and Methods: In this review article, by key words of exercise, asthma, rehabilitation, sport and respiratory function in PubMed and Google Scholar databases and also Persian language articles about 43 article were enrolled and their results compared together. Results: Different types of exercise are useful in asthmatic patients, but rhythmic exercise, such as walking and cycling with moderate intensity, induce more additional protective effects against asthma. Regular exercise by improving physical fitness and strengthening breathing muscles promotes quality of life in people with asthma. Conclusions: Regular moderate exercise increases physical fitness, lung function and quality of life in asthmatic patents.
