This paper considers the braking process of a mine diesel locomotive with hydrostatic mechanical transmission (HSMT) operating according to the "input differential" scheme. Braking process modeling involves four implementation methods. Identification and systematization of basic regularities in the distribution of power flows within a closed transmission contour in the process of braking have been performed with the help of software support developed by means of MatLab/Simulink. The simulation results of braking due to the hydrostatic transmission and the braking system during the movement of a diesel locomotive in the transport and traction ranges are presented in the form of graphical correlations. The process of theoretical studies of the braking process of a diesel locomotive with HSMT operating according to the "input differential" scheme has helped determine that, in terms of deceleration at the expense of a hydrostatic drive (HSD) and braking system while preserving kinematic engine-wheels connection, it is not permitted to implement this method of braking process as it is followed by excess of the allowable value of working pressure differential within HSD up to 2.8 times.
Multimodal transport terminals are the elements of transport systems that ensure the interaction of enterprises of various modes of transport. The effective functioning of transport terminals significantly affects the efficiency of the material flow servicing in a supply chain and the sustainability of the whole transport system. The paper proposes an approach to determine the optimal parameters of production resources in multimodal transport terminals, based on numerical computer simulations of technological operations in a transport terminal for the given parameters of incoming and outgoing material flows. The practical use of the proposed approach is shown on the example of the Amur Harbor cargo area of the Dnipro River Port.
The paper considers the problems concerning the improvement of passenger transportation process at the expense of the combined operating mode implementation. Efficiency criteria to implement the mixed conveyance forms have been formulated. An extensive approach to determine stopping points, involved in a highspeed route, has been proposed. An economic and mathematical model has been developed. The model makes it possible to study and determine both expediency and rational parameters concerning the implementation of the mixed high-speed conveyance forms. A structure of the integrated efficiency index has been proposed helping select the best approach, and involving the basic economic, technological, and social indices. The modeling outcomes as well as performance efficiency, resulting from the implementation of a high-speed conveyance in the context of an urban route, have been represented.
As a result of theoretical and experimental efforts, innovative scientifically grounded conceptual approach to select hydrostatic and mechanical transmissions (HMT) for wheel tractors designed for agricultural operations has been proposed. The approach is characterized by focusing on kinematic parameters, power parameters, and energy parameters of the transmission while performing technological operation "plowing"; it also takes into consideration braking features of a tractor in the context of various braking types. Application of the approach offers an opportunity to improve technical level of transmissions while updating current wheel tractors and designing new ones; moreover, that will better controllability as well as braking efficiency. The conceptual approach developed on the basis of proposed techniques and applied mathematical models makes possible to determine rational structure and basic design parameters of two-flow HMTs while designing; it also helps formulate recommendations concerning a technique for service braking and emergency braking under specific operational conditions.
For the developed system of public transport, the passengers, as the customers, have a variety of alternatives when choosing the transport mode or even the route for the given mode of public transport. The estimation of the passengers’ preference is the key task for transportation planners for solving the wide range of optimization problems in the field of public transport. A methodology for estimation of the passengers’ preference when choosing the bus line within a public transport system is developed in this paper. The proposed approach is based on the fuzzy-logic mathematical apparatus and uses the surveys’ data to calculate the membership functions defining the passengers’ preference. The case study of the passengers’ survey, held in Talas (Kazakhstan), is used to illustrate the developed methodology.

It is required to develop a logistic technology to manage transport generalizing efficiency indices and making it possible to optimize functioning of general transportation system of an enterprise.Methodology. System analysis and logistic approach have been used. Transportation system of an enterprise has been analyzed from the viewpoint of logistics. The analysis makes it possible to integrate efficiency indices of functioning of certain subsystems of the general micrologistic system. Objective function and general model of transportation system optimization have been determined.Findings. Logistic technology providing optimization of the parameters of transportation system functioning according to general logistic criterion has been represented. Micrologistic systems have been singled out; tendencies to control the delivery aimed at providing functional efficiency of transportation system of an enterprise have been determined. Parameters and factors determining the parameters of transportation efficiency to the fullest extent being the basis of developing logistic transportation systems of enterprises have been identified.

It is shown that due to the growth of waste generated by the metropolis, the processes of their removal and disposal must be more accurately accounted and controlled. If it is impossible to introduce “smart” control systems, it is proposed to search for reserves to increase the efficiency of the processes in their structure. A structural model of operations has been developed that can reduce time costs. The use of incomplete information on the accumulation and removal of garbage leads to unplanned mileage of trucks. In order to avoid unforeseen costs, it is proposed to use early garbage collection, which reduces the frequency of emptying containers. This leads to an increase in the number of truck arrivals to load, but eliminates unforeseen mileage due to inconsistencies in the loading forecast. It is shown that to effectively organize the work of garbage trucks on the transport network of the city, an active, shortest schedule of operations is required, which must be made for several periods. To develop an optimal cyclic schedule of garbage trucks, a method based on the ordering of mixed graphs is proposed. The mixed graph shows the set of garbage collection operations and the time relationships between their execution times. In order to develop an optimal schedule from such a graph, cycles must be removed from the graph. To do this, the “divide and conquer” method was used. The proposed algorithm for graph ordering is used to study the current garbage collection system. As a result of research, higher productivity of garbage trucks and timely removal of organic waste were achieved. The reduction of the weekly working time of 6 garbage trucks with the use of the 70 % container filling level reached 42 hours.
