Методом квантово-хімічного моделювання досліджено закономірності сумісної дії σ- та π-лігандів на електронну будову і термодинамічні параметри ацидоаквахлорокомплексів Сu+. Встановлено, що найкращі енергетичні характеристики мають безводні хлоридні комплекси з молекулами ненасичених органічних кислот (акрилова, малеїнова, фумарова). В них досягаються максимальні значення енергій зв’язування центрального атома з хлорид-йоном (151 ± 2 кДж/моль) та органічним лігандом (130 ± 1 кДж/моль), які практично не залежать від природи кислоти. Приєднання до [Cu+(L)(Cl−)] молекул води в усіх випадках є енергетично вигідним. Величина ΔEr залежить від природи органічної кислоти, форми її існування (молекули, аніони), кількості молекул води. Тому коливається в широкому інтервалі значень (10 – 60 кДж/моль). Гідратація сприяє переходу від σ-зв’язування центральним атомом аніонних форм органічних лігандів до π-зв’язування. Стабільні π–комплекси [Cu+(L)(Cl−)(H2O)] існують з усіма формами досліджених кислот. У той же час, перехід від молекулярної форми органічних кислот до аніонної тотально погіршує як енергетику σ-зв’язків Сu+ з аніонами хлору та молекулами води, так і енергетику π-зв’язків. За зміною ефективного заряду центрального атома кількісно оцінена антагоністичність сумісної дії σ-лігандів в [Cu+(L)(Cl−)(H2O)]. Показано, що в комплексах з молекулярною формою досліджених ненасичених кислот аніони хлору зменшують електронодонорність молекул води на 86 %, а молекули води зменшують електронодонорність СІ− на 35 %.
Розглядаються результати квантово-хімічного моделювання (Gaussian 09, функціонал B3LYP) комплексних структур, які можуть утворюватися з аквакомплексів Cu2+, хлорид-іонів та аніонів органічних кислот (малонова, бурштинова, малеїнова, фумарова, мурашина, оцтова, пропіонова, бутанова, акрилова). Показано, що досліджуваний ряд органічних кислот утворює дві лінійні кореляційні залежності pК монозаміщених ацидоаквакомплексів Cu2+ від ефективного заряду центрального атома. Одна відноситься до аніонів одноосновних кислот, інша – до аніонів двоосновних кислот. Використання параметрів відповідної pК, z*(Cu2+)-залежності та результатів розрахунку z*(Cu2+) дозволило визначити значення pК для акрилатних комплексів Cu2+, що дорівнює 1.778, відомості про яку у літературі відсутні. За ступенем зміни ефективного заряду іонів Cu2+ у комплексах [Cu2+(L)] оцінено електронодонорність лігандів: аніони органічних кислот (−51.95 %) > Cl− (−47.75 %) > H2O (−21.45 %). Однак, у полілігандних аквакомплексах, за рахунок утворення гідрату L · H2O, аніони органічних кислот поступаються хлорид-іонам. При введенні аніонів хлору у внутрішню координаційну сферу монозаміщених аніонами органічних кислот аквакомплексу Cu2+ спостерігається закономірне послаблення зв'язків Cu2+–L. Ступінь зменшення Eb(Cu2+-L) залежить від природи органічної кислоти. Для насичених структур ΔEb знаходиться в інтервалі 2–8 кДж/моль, для ненасичених досягає 20 кДж/моль. Синхронно змінюється і енергетика реакції заміщення молекул води в ацидоаквакомплексі Cu2+ аніонами хлору (з −4 до −30 кДж/моль). Це, а так само те, що енергетичний ефект реакції приєднання Cl− до ацидоаквакомплексів Cu2+ з ненасиченими аніонами є ще більшим, досягаючи −62 кДж/моль у присутності фумарат-іонів, створює сприятливі початкові умови для синтезу змішаних ацидохлорокомплексів Cu2+, які містять аніони ненасиченних кислот. У розчинах насичених кислот очікується утворення тільки комплексів виду [Cu2+(H2O)4(Cl)] та [Cu2+(H2O)4(L)].
