In the article the evaluation of interactions in the OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) is compared with the evaluation of cooperation on the basis of activity approach. The authors argue that in PISA, the problem and the interactions between those working on it are two separate subject matters of analysis, whereas in activity-based research on cooperation, cognitive and social components of problem solving in joint activity form one single reality for the participants of group work, with specific semantic, operational and subject attributes. Using the activity approach, the authors define the principles of monitoring and assessing abilities of the project team members in the process of team work. It is argued that the key integral construct that should be monitored in the process of team work is the design concept, its specification and the role it plays in the transformation of team activity. Assessing the development of abilities in the activity of project teams must as well be based on the typology of project teams.
The article describes a tool for assessing the ability to design activity in the process of group work when group members must coordinate to produce a scheme for their joint work. This new game-based technique was developed on the basis of N.Ach’s and Vygotsky-Sacharov’s integrated methods as well as on V. Rubtsov’s and Y.Gromyko’s methodology. It follows the principles of activity approach. The feature of this technique is that it employs the criteria for assessing communication and coordination in group task solving that were specially developed by us for these purposes. The tool can be applied for assessing the outcomes of design activity and developmental levels of design competencies in adolescents and young people in the course of school and university education. Also, this technique can be used for assessing project teams both in education and in other professional areas. The technique is currently being tested.
The papers describes results of theoretical within activity approach analysis and experimental moni¬toring research of developed in educational institutions abilities. Authors propose theoretical conclusions that ability is determined by the individual acquisition of the ukturl way of action in joint activity when solving an educational problem. But at the same time ability is not identical with the revealed and recon¬structed way of action on that it is based. It is the abilities under formation that are being mastered by the student in the educational process represent one of the leading mechanisms, the protagonists of the development of human subjectivity. The papers presents results the monitoring diagnostics of the ability to understand in different age groups of schoolchildren. Diagnostics of the ability to understand was consid¬ered on the basis of students mastering 6 different methods and techniques of understanding. Authors claim сomplex activity diagnostics of the development of understanding, along with diagnostics of other abilities (reflection, theoretical thinking, mutual understanding, goal-setting, self-determination, etc.) makes it pos¬sible to assess the quality of national education.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
