A research study was conducted to find the effect aqueous extract mixture of Zingiberofficinale, Carumcapticum, Withania somnifera, Trigonella foenum graecum, Silybummarianum, Allium sativum and Berberis lyceum on the growth performance of internal organs, lipid profile and hepatotoxicity of broiler chicks. A total of 240 day old chicks were purchased and were reared for 35 days in summer month. The birds were raised on conventional deep litter system, in open shed and all the pens/cages were placed in the same shed to ensure the same environment for all of the groups. Each pen was provided with a feeder and drinker. This aqueous extract mixture of plant was then mixed in drinking water of chicks at the rate of @ 0.0, 5.0, 10.0 and 15.0 ml/L for group A, B, C and D, respectively while group A served as a control. Feed and water were provided on calculated basis. Total numbers of chicks were divided into four groups (A, B, C and D) each having 60 chicks. Each group was further subdivided into three groups (replicates) each having 20 chicks. The data were recorded to explore the effect of infusion based plant mixture on the lipid profile and hepatotoxicity. AST and ALP had significantly (P<0.05) decreasing trend in groups B, C & D. ALT was significantly (P<0.05) lower in Group B. Group D had significantly (P<0.05) lower cholesterol, Triglyceride and LDL and higher HDL values. Serum protein were significantly (P<0.05) higher in group A. Group B @ 5.0 ml/L of Aqueous Extract water to improve liver function. Lipid profile could be well controlled, while using plant mixture extract @ 15.0 ml/L of water. Therefore the use of these medicinal plants is of great concern especially for broiler hepatic-toxicity and lipid profile. Keywords: Broilers, lipid profile, hepatotoxicity, higher density lipoprotein.
Babesiosis is a common disease in dogs. Babesia canis (Piana & Galli-Valerio, 1895) (Sporozoa, Babesiidae) causes the destruction of erythrocytes, resulting in hypotensive shock and total tissue damage due to lack of oxygen. Because of babesiosis, anemia develops in dogs, and in the first hours of the disease it is normocytic, normochromic and nonregenerative, and on the 2–3rd day of the course, macrocytic, hypochromic anemia with reticulocytosis develops. Scientists have studied the most common indicators of evaluation of erythrocytopoesis during babesiosis (the number of red blood cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit index, indices of “red” blood MCH and MCV), but the age structure of erythrocytes, their acid resistance and the ferrum-transferrin complex for this parasitic pathology have not been sufficiently studied. We carried out research on dogs of service breeds, which were divided into two groups: the first (6–18 months old, n = 10) and the second (2–8 years, n = 15). According to the conducted studies, in dogs of different age groups with babesiosis revealed oligocythemia with anisocytosis and poikilocytosis, oligochromia, decreased hematocrit index and macrocytosis. Significant changes in the morpho-functional state of erythrocytes in dogs of both groups have been revealed, in particular, changes in the population (age) composition of red blood cells: the number of “old” erythrocytes increases (they are rapidly destroyed), the “young” forms of red blood cells decrease and the time for their hemolysis is reduced. As a result of the study of the ferrum-transferrin complex in dogs with babesiosis in both groups, an increase in the level of free ferrum (UIBC) and a decrease in the saturation of transferrin with the trace element was found, which makes it impossible to form a hemoglobin molecule in the bone marrow.
Chronic pathological process in kidney saffect the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid system and peripheral metabolism of thyroid hormones. Pathological blood components, which accumulate due to intoxication of metabolic products, the uremic toxins, can affect the metabolism of T3 - and T4 -hormones. In cows on the Ukraine territory such thyroid diseases as hypothyroidism, less often hyperthyroidism, endemic and sporadic goiter, diffuse toxic goiter, tumors were detected, changes in the functional state of the thyroid gland with ketosis, osteodystrophy, hepatodystrophy, polymorbidic pathology were described. Metabolic diseases, which are based on impaired absorption of certain macro-and micronutrients, determine the functional activity of the thyroid gland. The data presented in the article indicate the develop of latent nephropathy in cows during the early milking period with the background of reduced energy supply, which was reflected in the disorders of filtration, excretory and concentration capacity of renal structures with a probable decrease the urea (p<0.001) and creatinine to 3982.4±414.4 μmol/l in urine, a decrease in the value of concentration indices – CI and FCU in 1.7 and 1.4 times, respectively, compared with animals in the control group, the development of hypostenuria with a decrease in relative urinary density to 1.022±0.004 kg/m3 (p<0,01) and selective proteinuria with a probable increase in the protein/creatinine ratio in 3.14 times compared with the cows of the control group. The disorders of the renal functional state was accompanied by changes in the thyroid profile in cows, which was characterized by a probable increase the T3 hormone level to 4.12±0.55 nmol/l (p<0.05) with a simultaneous decrease in thyroxine to 74.2±13,0 nmol/l (p<0,05) on the background of high values of TSH in blood serum (666.8±51.9 nMO/ml). Key words: nephropathy, highly productive cows, thyroid gland, thyroxine, triiodothyronine, thyroid-stimulating hormone.
Toxicobiological effect of mycotoxins association of the Penicillium and Fusarium fungus (T-2 toxin at a concentration of 0.1 mg/kg, fumonisin B1 ‒ 0.5 mg/kg, vomitoxin (DON) ‒ 0.1 mg/kg, penicillic acid ‒ 1 mg/kg) was accompanied by the development of a complex pathological process in weaned piglets. In this regard, the detoxification and sorption capacity of the complex feed additive "Harufix+" based on mannanoligosaccharides was studied. The additive effect on the resorptive activity of mineral and vitamin nutrients of feed under the normal feeding conditions and in case of contamination with mycotoxins has been studied. The use of enterosorbent offset the toxic effects of micromycete metabolites, which contributed to the growth of piglets. Thus, weight growth rate increase of the piglets in group 1 (i.e., those whose diet included the additive, unlike the diet of the animals in control group) constituted 16 %, while their average weight growth rate was high and constituted 1.96 kg per day. In addition, during the study of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, ferum, zinc, copper and manganese in the piglets blood was not found excretion of these elements with a sorbent, moreover, noted the normalization their blood level. The study content of vitamins A and E, the same as with mineral nutrients, has not been established decrease during treatment with study the pharmaceutical. The obtained results testify the active absorption in the gastrointestinal tract of the vitamin components within the fodder combined with fodder additive “Harufix+” and high biological accessibility of its transport forms. The efficiency of the additive can be explained by its composition, namely the complex of mineral and organic components that are formed by modification of the organic cations of the mineral surface. Key words: mycotoxins, mycotoxicosis, macro- and microelements, sorbent, vitamin metabolism, piglets.
