Specific features of LPO processes and antioxidant defense were studied in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and infertility. Changes in LPO processes in patients with PCOS were compensatory, which manifested in increased α-tocopherol and retinol concentrations and moderate decrease in superoxide dismutase activity. Intensification of prooxidant processes was found in the group of patients with infertility without PCOS. The observed changes necessitate differentiated approach to the treatment of these patients.
Experimental studies demonstrated inhibition of glucose absorption in the jejunum in acute and chronic 1-h daily immobilization stress, with the maximum inhibition on day 7 of immobilization. These changes correlate with the development of oxidative stress in animals over the entire duration of the experiment, which manifested by an increase in the content of the primary and end LPO products and decrease of the total antioxidant activity of the blood. Correction of these shifts with the antioxidant drug inhibits accumulation of LPO products and increases antioxidant defense and glucose absorption rate. These data prove the important role of peroxidation in regulation of glucose absorption.
The Chelyabinsk Region (Southern Urals) is high endemic territory. The TBE incidence is 3.57 ± 1.7 per 100 000 of population. A level of vaccination against TBE increased from 0.3 to 34.8% in 1999 - 2013. Specific immunity of population in 35.9% is connected with vaccination, in 64.1% with natural immunity consequently latent contact with TBE virus. Dynamics of vaccinal prevention, increasing of population immunity in different landscapes, and in different age groups were studied. 77.7% of TBE patients did not vaccinated, 18.2% received of specific immunoglobulin at postexposition and 3.7% persons were vaccinated. Unusual lethal case in patient, who received 8 doses of vaccine is analysed in this article.
The use of melatonin drugs, including melaxen in a dose of 3 mg during 3 month, is one of the main methods of treatment of sleep disorders in age-related estrogen deficiency. The main clinical effect was due to the elimination of pre- and intrasomnic disorders.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
