A series of novel bis(naphtha1ic anhydrides) has been prepared through acenaphthene interaction with the dichloroanhydrides of dicarboxylic acids under the conditions of the Friedel-Crafts reaction or with chloral and bromal followed by oxidation of bis-acenaphthyls and anhydrization of the tetracarboxylic acids synthesized. Poly(naphthoy1ene benzoimidazoles) combining advantageous thermal properties and solubility in organic solvents have been obtained through interaction between the synthesized anhydrides and bis (0-phenylene diamines).
Neue Bis(naphtha1incarbonaureanhydride) und Polyheteroarylene auf deren BasisEine Reihe neuer Bis(naphtha1incarbonsaureanhydride) wurden durch Umsatz von Acenaphthen mit Dichloranhydriden von Dicarhonsauren unter den Bedingungen einer Friedel-Crafts-Reaktion mit Chloral bzw. Bromal und nachfolgender Oxidation der Bis(acenaphthy1e) und Anhydridisierung der Tetracarbonsauren synthetisiert. Aus diesen Anhydriden und Bis(o-phenylendiaminen) erhaltene Poly(naphthoy1en-benzoimidazole) vereinen gute thermische Eigenschaften mit Loslichkeit in organischen Losungsmitteln.
