ConclusionThe study suggests that dexmedetomidine as a first line antiarrhythmic drug has a therapeutic role in the treatment of postoperative arrhythmias after pediatric cardiac surgery.
Conclusions:Children with malignancies and severe ARDS are more prone to dying when in mechanical ventilation. Oxygenation Index may be a predictor of mortality for these patients, but validation and cut-off points shall still be determined. Ventilator pressures tend to be higher in oncologic children with ARDS due to their pulmonary illness severity.
