Automobile design evaluation is the concrete application of the existing evaluation methods in the automobile design area to obtain concrete conclusions. This paper through the study of eye tracking technology and product design evaluation, then use examples to analyze and demonstrate the application of eye tracking in the automobile design evaluation, in order to summarize a product design evaluation process.
Kansei Engineering is a technical methodology to translate consumer’s Kansei into product design elements. The target of this technology is to provide designers and manufacturers with a technique to master the emotional and spiritual needs of consumers and then manifest them in product design to enhance competitive edge. In light of this situation and on the basis of finishing a lot of English literature reading about this technology, the author conducted systematical study about Kansei Engineering in this thesis with the aim to enhance understanding of it for domestic designers and accelerate spread of it. Basing on the study about the situations of China’s domestic design industry, the author analyzed several points that China’s design industry should learn from Japan and Kansei Engineering technology, and proposed a simplified Kansei Engineering Model which is easier to execute and suitable for domestic design industry. In conclusion, this paper gives an introduction to the theory of Kansei Engineering system, and explores the relationship between consumer's desire and massage chair design factor with the SD (Semantic Differential) method, providing effective reference for the massage chair design.
The generation of design concept is the first step in the process of design which related the design direction and thematic. Design psychology is a new cross subject. Both seemed unrelated, actually, it is a close relationship between them. Design psychology is an auxiliary of helping Design concept creation. Design psychology is the basis and skills of the design concept. In this paper two angles from design concept and design psychology at first to assumed, then the relations between design concept and design psychology are analyzed. The target is use of design psychology‘s knowledge to improve the design concept better so as to lead a good design.
The performance assessment of hydraulic servo systems has attracted an increasing amount of attention in recent years. However, only a few studies have focused on practical approaches in this field. A performance assessment method based on radial basis function (RBF) neural network and Mahalanobis distance (MD) is proposed in this study; the method is quantized by the performance confidence value (CV). An observer model based on RBF neural network is designed to calculate the residual error between the actual and estimated outputs. The root mean square (RMS), peak value, and average absolute value are then extracted as the features of residual error, which serve as the coordinates of the feature points. Lastly, the MD between the most recent feature point and the constructed Mahalanobis space is calculated. The condition of the system is assessed by normalizing MD into a CV. The proposed method is proven to be effective by a simulation model in which leakage faults are injected. Experimental results show that the proposed method can assess the performance of hydraulic servo systems effectively.
