Automobile design evaluation is the concrete application of the existing evaluation methods in the automobile design area to obtain concrete conclusions. This paper through the study of eye tracking technology and product design evaluation, then use examples to analyze and demonstrate the application of eye tracking in the automobile design evaluation, in order to summarize a product design evaluation process.
To create the form of products has a certain regularity as same as the form of nature, and closely linked with social and cultural, ethnic customs and habits. When a car brand after years of development, some of the unique styling characteristics will remain in their models down to become a symbol of the shape of its brand symbol and logos. With the development of the times and technology, hatchback car due in large part to save human resources become the main direction of future automotive development. The object is hatchback sedan of Volkswagen brand golf series, starting from its styling features and make a comparative analysis of the form of body shape, the development of light form and design texture, and combined analysis of the Golf market sales volume sampling and Golf Volkswagen brand sales scale drawing. It shown that automotive styling morphology inextricably linked with the development of accurate market positioning and era.
Image segmentation is an important constituent portion in image processing and retrieval. Based on the traditional Wavelet-domain Hidden Markov Tree (HMT) Multi-scale Segmentation method, this paper presents a Contextual Label Tree (CLT) method according to the dependency information between image blocks belong to different scales, including the relation from the father node, the neighbor nodes and the neighbor nodes of the father. This method calculates the maximal similarity using context vectors that exit on every tree node and realizes image segmentation from coarse-scale to fine-scale. Experiments show that this method is satisfied with its segmentation performance.
This paper presents the concept of Collaborative Commodity Design (CCD). The main features of CCD is introduced, and the general development process and overall framework of CCD is proposed. Collaborative Commodity Design System (CCDS) implementation is discussed in detail with emphasis on two different aspects: generation process of economic schemes and creation of dynamic alliance module structure. Finally a product design case study has shown operability and efficiency of the system.
In today’s marketplace, external appearance and internal decoration become an increasingly important factor that affecting sales volume of product. Moreover, for loaders, the external appearance and decoration of the cab may influence the driver’s comfort both visually and mentally. In order to find out how it works, we divided the experimental subjects into professional group and nonprofessional group and used eye tracker to record subjects’ responses (eye movements) to the pictures of the loader, and then analyzed these responses with the eye tracker build-in analyzing software. The results show that the professional are more interested in functional parts and the nonprofessionals are more likely to be influenced by appearance shape and color; the instrument panel is less attracted during the whole experiments.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
