The complete sequence of the mitochondrial genome of the mandarin vole (Lasiopodomys mandarinus) was completed and annotated in this study. The circular genome is 16,375 bp in length and contains the typical 37 genes that are arranged in the same order as that of the putative ancestor of vertebrate, 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNA genes, 2 rRNA genes and 2 non-coding regions. This study will provide genetic resource to clarify the taxonomic position of genus Lasiopodomys.
Ferroptosis is a newfound mode of regulated cell death that may have potential to associate with prognostic or diagnostic factors in glioma. In this research, 5 genes related to glioma were screened through the FerrDb database, and we analyzed the combination between genes and glioma of survival and prognosis via TCGA, GEPIA, TIMER, and other databases. Survival curve and prognostic analysis showed that the overexpression of NFE2L2 and NOX4, respectively, has a remarkable link with a worse prognosis in glioma. Then, the association between the expression of the two genes and tumor-infiltrating immune cells level was explored based on the GSCA, and the immunity of NFE2L2 and NOX4 based on the TISIDB database was also investigated. In glioma, especially GBM, there is a strong association between gene expression and immune infiltration, even in macrophages, nTreg, and Th2 cells, which play immunosuppressive functions in TME. In conclusion, these results indicate that NFE2L2 and NOX4 could be risk prognosis biomarkers in glioma, and they bound up with immune infiltration and tumor immunity in tumorigenesis.
Several metrics have been proposed to assess the visual quality of 3D triangular meshes during the last decade. In this paper, we propose a mesh visual quality metric by integrating mesh saliency into mesh visual quality assessment. We use the Tensor-based Perceptual Distance Measure metric to estimate the local distortions for the mesh, and pool local distortions into a quality score using a saliency weighting-based pooling strategy. Three well-known mesh saliency detection methods are used to demonstrate the superiority and effectiveness of our metric. Experimental results show that our metric with any of three saliency maps performs better than state-of-the-art metrics on the LIRIS/EPFL general-purpose database. We generate a synthetic saliency map by assembling salient regions from individual saliency maps. Experimental results reveal that the synthetic saliency map achieves better performance than individual saliency maps, and the performance gain is closely correlated with the similarity between the individual saliency maps.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
