End-stage renal disease (ESRD) is a major public health issue in Malaysia and worldwide. Depression is highly associated with ESRD and with the increasing number of ESRD, the rate of depression will also grow. There are limited data on clinical trials of antidepressant medication on ESRD due to safety reasons. Due to that, psychological intervention is a preferred treatment for this population. Previously, studies on the effectiveness of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) have been focused more on patients with depression with no comorbid chronic medical illness. Therefore, the present article is set out to analyse the existing literature on the effectiveness of CBT on depression among ESRD undergoing haemodialysis treatment. Guided by the PRISMA Statement (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) review method, a systematic review on Scopus database has identified 10 studies. Further review of these articles resulted in two main themes-single-group trial and two-groups trial. The two-groups trial is further producing another two sub-themes. The discussion is mainly on the lack of randomized trial in the depression treatment among haemodialysis patients in Malaysia. Several recommendations are being highlighted, where are to compare
The inability of teachers to accept cultural, linguistic, and religious differences caused by racial differences can have a negative impact on unity. The literature suggests that principals can play a role in addressing this issue. Thus, the purpose of this study is to determine the principal’s role in promoting teachers’ unity and to determine the relationship between the principal’s role and teachers’ unity. This study is a survey design and a quantitative method was used to collect data from 578 teachers in a population of 236,748 teachers in secondary school. The data collected was analyzed descriptively to produce mean value and standard deviation, therefore the level of principals’ role in promoting unity and the level of teachers’ unity can be interpreted. Inference analysis by Pearson correlation was done to determine r-value, therefore the hypotheses on the relationship between the two variables were tested. Overall, principals’ role attained a high level in promoting unity with a mean score of 3.85, whereas the teachers’ unity level was also at a high level with a mean score of 4.37. The result also shows that there was a positive relationship between the two variables but at a weak level with r = 0.20. This paper contributes to the body of knowledge that principals’ role in promoting unity has had an impact on the teachers’ unity level. This finding also shows that the Malaysian Education System Aspiration focusing on promoting unity is relevant and should be continuously implemented. Apart from having theories implication, the findings bear positive input for principals’ training, and also provide input for the teaching fraternity to be more respectful towards each other’s differences, thereby avoiding racism and discrimination amongst them.
Adolescence is a period of stress that invites to psychosocial dysfunctional among adolescents. The effects of uncontrolled psychosocial dysfunctional can contribute to a variety of behavioral and emotional problems. This is alarming because statistics in Malaysia about psychosocial malfunction among adolescents show high rates when they are an important future asset to the nation. Literature suggest that research on protective factors of resilience can help to understand the strength of self as well as to highlight potential in adolescents. In this study, one set of questionnaires has been modified in the context of Malaysia and has been through the back-translation process, face and content validity as well as constructs validity. The construct validity of this study was analyzed using an exploratory factor analysis of 183 adolescents aged 16 years. Findings show that all constructs exceed the requirements for sufficient and significant samples for analysis of subsequent factor exploratory by extracting using the principal component of the analysis via varimax rotation. The analysis found that three factors were extracted for school external protective factors and home external protective factor and two factors have been extracted for peer external protective factor as suggested by Resilience Theory (Benard, 1991). Meanwhile, only two factors have been extracted for community external protection factor compared to the original three factors. The discussion and conclusion of this study are discussed in depth at the end of this article.
Innovations is one of STEM products that will significantly impact people's life. However, the ability of STEM-driven innovation to solve a particular problem may be different from one place to another. It depends on the values preserved by a particular society. This study investigate how value orientation may be the resistance to utility of reverse vending machine (RVM). The current study adopted qualitative research approach. Qualitative data were collected from Malaysian public through comments they left on an article posted on a Facebook group page about RVM. The 281 comments were analyzed thematically. Three themes presented in this article are: i) egoistic oriented response; ii) biospheric oriented response; and iii) anticipation of the adverse effects of reverse vending machine. This study suggests there is a need for education reorientation, especially STEM education in Malaysia. STEM education should develop thinking citizens that are able to think and make their own decisions based on sound judgment in determining what counts as proper behavior.

The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between leadership styles to job satisfaction among Malaysian Army College Officer. This research is based on quantitative research methodology and a cross-sectional survey research design. The 52 sample was selected by using a random sampling method to represent the whole 60 population of officer working at Army Collage in Port Dickson. Based on the findings of the study, there is no significant relationship between authoritarian leadership style and laissez-faire leadership style and there was significant relationship between democratic leadership style with job satisfaction. This means that employees were democratic leadership style with their current job, it does affected to the level of their job satisfaction and their performance. This research will give benefit to the General of Command in Training and Doctrin (GOCTRADOC) and Commandant of Centre of Excellences Malaysian Army to get competent and quality also may solve shortage qualified instructor and lecturer.
