Electric vehicles will longitudinally vibrate obviously under acceleration and regenerative braking conditions (because of torsional vibration of the electric vehicle powertrain). This paper includes models of motor rotor, gear reducer and differential assembly, half shafts, tire and body and nonlinear powertrain dynamic model in consideration of gear backlash and frictional characteristics between tire and ground. Real car tests confirm that it is correct under acceleration conditions. Then a two mass-spring damper linear model which is simplified from the nonlinear powertrain dynamic model is proposed to design torsional vibration control algorithm based on state feedback. The simulation results show that the algorithm can actively eliminate torsional vibration.

Control strategy and stability of actuator are highly important for the performance of Automated Mechanical Transmission (AMT). Targeting an electric AMT actuator, this paper sets up a Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test rig which is composed of TCU, AMT actuator, dSPACE Simulator, real-time simulation computer and AMT actuator loading simulation electric servo-system. In order to verify actuator and control strategy, the paper carries out several tests in typical driving conditions. it also analyses the shift performance and gives advices on further improvement. This paper lists several failure modes and extreme conditions of AMT. Some of them will be modeled in Simulink, in order to optimize AMT actuator and control strategy while ensuring enough driving ability when AMT is failed or vehicle is driven in extreme conditions.

Traditional vehicles must separate clutch during the shifting process, which will lead to clutch wear. Parallel hybrid electrical vehicles introduce a motor which makes it possible to shift without separating clutch. This paper proposes a control algorithm which combines engine control with motor control to realize shifting control without using clutch based on dynamic analysis for every shifting stage, of which the key technologies are accurate motor torque and speed control to make full use of motor rapid response ability. The simulation result shows this can significantly improve driving comfort, shift transient property and extend service life of clutch.

Fuel cell vehicle powertrain is a complex electromechanical system related to electrochemistry, power electronics, power transmission and control systems, network and communications and other disciplines. Therefore, this article has clearly made the concept of fault and fault diagnosis, and conducted the preliminary study of the method of fault diagnosis for the fuel cell vehicle battery, and will adopt the model-based fault diagnosis method to achieve battery fault diagnosis.

Based on the establishment of each independent phase theoretical model during synchronizing process of synchronizer used in HEV (hybrid electrical vehicle), an experimental means to analyze that synchronizing process is put forward in this article. Firstly, alternative current impedance analyzer is adopted to obtain amplitude and phase angle information of equivalent complex impedance between engaged gear ring and synchronizing ring. There are significant changes between the obtained results when the phase transition happens. Therefore, the moment of each phase transition can be determined through the experimental data. Then, to verify the consistency of the experiment mentioned above, a series of experiments are conducted under different rotation speed differences between the driving and driven cone. The experimental results show that different rotation speed differences lead to different moments when the severe mutation of amplitude and phase angle of the equivalent complex impedance occurs. It demonstrates the validity of the experiment that the rotation speed difference which belongs to phase transition criteria has a certain influence on the phase transition process. Furthermore, it is quite consistent with the actual situation, which also verifies that the experimental method put forward in this article has certain reliability.
