Bu çalışmada Türkiye'nin 2005 yılı Ocak ayı ile 2016 yılı Eylül ayları arasında gerçekleşen makroekonomik değişkenleri ile kredi derecelendirme kuruluşu Moody's Investors Service Inc.'in yine bu tarih aralığında duyurduğu kredi notları arasında bir nedenselliğin var olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır. Çalışmanın ekonomik analiz kısmında Türkiye'nin söz konusu tarih aralığında sahip olduğu TÜFE, GSYİH, doğrudan yabancı yatırım miktarı ve işsizlik değerleri veri olarak alınmış, diğer taraftan hâlihazırda dünyanın en büyük pazar payına sahip kredi derecelendirme kuruluşu Moody's Investors Service Inc.' in duyurduğu kredi notları ve görünümler sayısal değerlerle yeniden düzenlenerek analize katılmıştır. Analizde ilk önce serilerin durağan olup olmadıkları araştırılmış, sonrasında ise Johansen eşbütünleşme testi uygulanmıştır. Eşbütünleşme testi sonucunda da seriler arasında uzun dönemli bir ilişkiden bahsedebileceği ancak kredi notları ile makroekonomik veriler arasında herhangi bir nedensellik ilişkisinin olmadığı sonucuna varılmıştır.
Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye’nin N11 ülkeleriyle olan dış ticaretin belirleyicilerini tahmin etmek ve bu doğrultuda politika önerilerinde bulunmaktır. N11 (Next Eleven) ülkeleri Türkiye, Bangladeş, Mısır, Endonezya, İran, Güney Kore, Meksika, Nijerya, Pakistan, Filipinler ve Vietnam’dan oluşmaktadır. Değişik makroekonomik ve demografik göstergeler eşliğinde yapılan öngörülerde, N11 ülkelerinin birçoğunun (özellikle Türkiye, Nijerya, Güney Kore ve Vietnam) 2050 yılında G7 ülkelerinin bazılarını geçebileceği tahmin edilmektedir. Çalışmada Türkiye'nin N11 ülkeleriyle olan dış ticaret akımları çekim modeli ile açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, ihracatta Türkiye’nin GSYİH’sının negatif etkili; ithalatta ise pozitif etkili olduğu ortaya koyulmuştur. Ayrıca karşı ülke GSYİH’sının hem ihracatta hem de ithalatta pozitif etkili olduğu; ülkeler arasındaki coğrafi uzaklığın ise her durumda negatif etkili olduğu belirlenmiştir. Analizlerde elde edilen bir diğer sonuç ise ortak sınır ve ortak din kukla değişkenlerinin dış ticaret üzerinde pozitif etki yaptığını göstermektedir.
Çalışmada Türkiye'deki seçili bazı finansal değişkenlerle (USD, EURO, POUND, SDR, BİST 100, Cumhuriyet Altını, M1 ve M2 para arzları) sanal para birimi Bitcoin (BTC) arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Bu kapsamda 2013-2019 dönemine ait aylık veriler kullanılmıştır. Analizler sonucunda değişkenlerin birinci farklarının durağan olduğu tespit edilmiş, diğer taraftan Bitcoin ile diğer finansal değişkenler arasında uzun dönemli bir eşbütünleşmenin varlığı belirlenmiştir. Değişkenler arasında nedenselliğin araştırıldığı Granger Nedensellik testi ile de Bitcoin'in bağımlı değişken olduğu denklemde SDR ve USD 'den BTC'ye doğru %5 anlamlılık düzeyinde; Euro ve BIST 100 değişkeninden BTC'ye doğru ise %10 anlamlılık seviyesinde bir nedenselliğin varlığı tespit edilmiştir.
Derecelendirme kuruluşlarının verdiği kredi notları uluslararası yatırım kararları üzerinde olumlu ve/veya olumsuz etkiler yapmaktadır. Bu durum söz konusu kuruluşların derecelendirme işlemlerinde objektif davranmadıkları; hatta ekonomik krizleri tetiklediği tartışmasını beraberinde getirmektedir. Çalışmada Kırılgan 8'li grubu ülkelerin makroekonomik değişkenleri ile Moody's Investors Service Inc. 'in bu ülke gurubuna verdiği kredi notları arasındaki nedensellik ilişkisi araştırılmıştır. Öncelikle yatay kesit bağımlılığı 1 ve 2 testleriyle, serilerin durağanlığı ise CIPS birim kök testiyle araştırılmıştır. Eğim katsayılarının homojenliği Swamy S testiyle incelenmiş ve uygulanan Westerlund ve Edgerton (2007) eşbütünleşme testi sonucunda seriler arasında eşbütünleşme ilişkisinin olmadığı bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır. Son olarak seriler Dumitrescu-Hurlin panel nedensellik testine tabi tutularak kredi notundan doğrudan yabancı yatırımlar, enflasyon oranı ve ekonomik büyüme oranına doğru tek yönlü nedensellik ilişkisinin varlığı tespit edilmiştir. Ancak kredi notlarıyla işsizlik oranları arasında nedensellik ilişkisine rastlanılamamıştır.
