Determination of Antioxidant Capacity and Total Phenolic Matter of Salvia verticillata subsp. amasiaca
AbstractSalvia genus, being as widely growed in the world, due to the antioxidant and phenolic content has an important role in medical aromatic plants. In this study, Salvia verticillata subsp. amasiaca of sage species methanol extracts was determined by the total phenolic and antioxidant activity. Free radical reduction (scavenging), iron reduction power (FRAP), copper reduction power (CUPRAC), free radical ctions reduction (TEAC), total phenolic (TP) and total flavonoids (TF) tests were performed. The results of the tests, scavenging activity DPPH lC50 11,47±0,30, FRAP 22,22 ± 0,36 mmol TE/g extract, CUPRAC 6,67 ± 0,16 mmol TE/g extract and TEAC ise 5,77 ± 0,82 lC50 (µg/mL) was determined.
