Abstract Starting from the circular of the Dirjen Dikti Number: 152/E/T/2012 concerning the publication of student scientific work, the Indonesian government encourages students to play an active role in conducting research publications. The quantity of scientific publications carried out by students must also be followed by good quality. In the world of education, the quality of scientific publications can be seen from the categories of research outputs and how the factors affect the field of research. Campus facilities are said to be one of the important factors in supporting the quality of student research publications. Because not only physically, non-physical facilities are considered very important to improve student competence and capabilities, for example in the form of training. Dynamic system analysis is a research methodology that can capture the condition of a quality management system. In this study the dynamic system was used to look at the quality of research publications conducted by postgraduate students, to see how facilities could affect the quality of student research publications.
Numerous environmental problems drive discussion to solve them. Students require environmental problem-solving skills to solve the existing problems. The study aimed to describe environmental problem-solving skills in Elementary Education. The research method is descriptive using a system dynamics approach. Instrument of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and Pro-Environmental Behavior (PEB) used to measure students score in environmental topic. Sample was chosen by simple random sampling. The research used VENSIM software to create the modeling. The research results indicate that the score of the environmental problem-solving skills tends to increase due to the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and Pro-Environmental Behavior (PEB). Moreover, there are other influencing factors including learning media and students’ activity in their environment. An increase of 5 points in the environmental problem-solving skills every year will be derived if the teachers perform various learning innovations. The research concludes that environmental problem-solving skills in low category and can be improve by various learning innovations.
It is a necessity to develop environmental learning to solve climate change problems, in particular. One of the focuses is climate change learning at the elementary school level that requires elementary teacher candidates to understand various climate change issues. Skills needed are Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) measurable using Ichsan’s taxonomy as an innovation. Ichsan’s taxonomy consists of six thinking levels, namely identify, compare, implement, criticize problems, solve problems, and develop innovation. The study describes the HOTS of elementary teacher candidates using the HOTS of Climate Change with Ichsan’s taxonomy (HOTSCC-Ichsan). The study uses a descriptive method with a survey as the data collection technique. The study finds that the HOTS scores of the elementary teacher candidates measured using the HOTSCC-Ichsan are in a very low category (28.03). The finding indicates the need to enhance the HOTS-based learning intensively for the elementary teacher candidates. It requires learning media development to address the low HOTS. The research conclusion is that the HOTS of the elementary teacher candidates is low and needs an improvement
