A convenient and effective method of ruthenium‐catalyzed C−H/N−H annulations using vinylene carbonate as oxidizing acetylene surrogate has been disclosed. This method is scalable and compatible with a wide range of functional groups, providing a step‐economical access to indole synthesis Preliminary mechanistic studies provided support for a reversible, acetate‐assisted C−H ruthenation, along with a subsequent olefin insertion.

Herein, we report a highly efficient ruthenium-catalyzed peri-selective C(sp 2 )−H acylmethylation of 1-naphthols with α-carbonyl sulfoxonium ylides by utilizing hydroxyl as a weakly coordinating directing group. This new method imparts good reactivity, excellent chemo-and regioselectivity, and broad functional group tolerance and involves mild reaction conditions. The C− H acylmethylated products can be readily cyclized into fluorescent annulated pyrans by a one-pot process.

A convenient and effective method of palladium-catalyzed CÀ H selenylation of the 2-aryl acetamides assisted with removable 8-aminoquinoline with readily available diselenides and selenyl chlorides has been developed. This selenylation reaction is scalable and tolerates a wide range of functional groups, providing a straightforward way of the preparing unsymmetrical diaryl selenides and dibenzoselene-pinone. Preliminary mechanistic studies indicated that a single-electron transfer type mechanism and facile CÀ H metalation are operative.

Herein, we report a general and efficient method for the palladium‐catalyzed remote C(sp2)−H difluoroalkylation of N‐aryloxazolidinone derivatives with commercially available difluoroalkyl bromide. This method tolerates a wide range of functional groups with 26 examples in up to 96 % yields. Moreover, it proceeds with complete para‐selectivity. Preliminary mechanistic studies indicated that a single electron transfer process likely involved in this transformation.
