Introduction: palliative care are a type of care directed to people with diseases without therapeutic possibility of cure, guided by a philosophy that emphasizes comprehensive care to the person, as opposed to actions that only seek a cure. According to the WHO, palliative care seeks quality of life of both patients and their families, from measures aimed at the prevention and relief of suffering.Objective: to verify nursing professionals' concept on palliative care and determine how nursing professionals use palliative care in patients without therapeutic possibilities of cure.Method: field study, exploratory, qualitative, conducted with 30 nursing professionals from a public hospital, using a questionnaire, during July and August 2013. Objectives: To evaluate the quality of life of women with HIV/AIDS in the State of Paraíba and define them as the socio-demographic profile.Method: This was a descriptive, exploratory and quantitative study, conducted at the Hospital Clementino Fraga, had a population of 33 women with HIV/AIDS, using the form of interviews HATQoL, clinical and sociodemographic, data collection took place in July 2014 after approval of the CEP UFPB. Results and Discussion:There was concern domains with commitment of confidentiality, financial worry and sexual activity with a possible association with clinical and sociodemographic data obtained, most women: they are aged between 36-42 years acquired HIV through heterosexual sex, unmarried , have children (between 1-2), have low education (less than 9 years of schooling) and low income (up to two minimum wages). Conclusion:Therefore, it is necessary that the care of these women is conducted by interdisciplinary teams that promote integrated care, gazing beyond the individual needs, aspects related to their quality of life. In this perspective, the nurse plays a fundamental role in promoting quality of life.
Introdução: A inserção da auriculoterapia no âmbito da atenção primária à saúde em João Pessoa é recente e ocorre de forma autônoma e difusa, a depender da motivação dos profissionais. Objetivo: O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar uma breve análise sobre a oferta da auriculoterapia em um grupo de caráter fechado. Métodos: Pesquisa qualitativa exploratória utilizando dados coletados por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas com usuários que utilizam a auriculoterapia no processo terapêutico. Resultados: Após a análise qualitativa dos dados por meio da técnica de análise de conteúdo de Bardin, emergiram três categorias: compreensão e construção de conceitos sobre auriculoterapia; concepção sobre a eficácia da auriculoterapia; experiência da auriculoterapia em grupo. Pode-se depreender que a oferta de auriculoterapia na atenção primária é visualizada pelo usuário como uma prática que leva ao bem-estar e alivia suas dores, sejam elas físicas ou emocionais. Os usuários revelam ainda a importância da educação em saúde para a compreensão da terapia da qual usufruem, construindo suas concepções pelas vivências, trocas e compartilhamento de conhecimentos. Conclusões: A auriculoterapia é, portanto, uma prática pela qual se pode construir e fortalecer vínculos e aumentar o escopo de ações ofertadas para o alcance da integralidade.
Objective: Analyze the knowledge of home caregivers about health care related infections. Method:Descriptive and exploratory research, with qualitative approach, conducted with 75 caregivers of patient hospitalized at home. The data was collected through a semi-structured interview script, from August to September, 2016, processed on the IRAMUTEQ software and analyzed by the descending hierarchical classification.
