The purpose of this community service activity was to increase the knowledge and experience of local communities at village potential mapping based on Asset Based Community Development in Kotabatu Village. The activities carried out are in the form of focus group discussion (FGD), training that accompanied by assistance in the context of mapping of village potential and increasing the institutional capacity of community groups, namely: Community Forestry Group and Tourism Awareness Group. The methods used in this activity included: the cognitive aspect enhancement stage, the mentoring and empowerment stage, and the advocacy stage. In particular, this community service activity has led to several objectives, including: building a commitment among village officials to focus on village development of the three potential Kotabatu Village has had, including (1) optimizing the potential of natural resources, (2) potential agricultural products, and (3) tourism potential. ===== Tujuan pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini ialah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pengalaman masyarakat lokal dalam memetakan potensi desa berbasiskan asset based community development di Desa Kotabatu, Kec. Pubian, Kab. Lampung Tengah. Kegiatan yang dilakukan berbentuk forum group discussion (FGD), pelatihan, dan dibarengi dengan pendampingan dalam rangka pemetaan (eksplorasi) potensi desa, serta peningkatan kapasitas kelembagaan kelompok masyarakat, yakni Kelompok Hutan Kemasyarakatan-HKm dan Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis). Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini di antaranya adalah tahap peningkatan aspek kognitif, tahap pendampingan dan pemberdayaan, serta tahap advokasi. Secara khusus, kegiatan pengabdian ini telah mengarah pada beberapa capaian tujuan, di antaranya, yakni terbangunnya komitmen di antara aparatur desa untuk memfokuskan pengembangan desa pada tiga potensi yang dimiliki oleh Desa Kotabatu, di antaranya, yakni (1) optimalisasi potensi SDA, (2) potensi hasil bumi, dan (3) potensi pariwisata.
The increasing incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DMT2) among Indonesian adolescents has prompted the consideration of early detection and management in school-age individuals. One contributing factor is the spatial shift phenomenon, where rural and urban areas in Indonesia are becoming more connected, leading to a uniform market for food and beverage options that pose a higher risk of developing diabetes. This study examines three key aspects of Indonesia's ethnically diverse youth population: their lifestyle, use of information technology, and dietary choices. These factors significantly impact their likelihood of consuming foods and beverages that are harmful for individuals with diabetes. The study, conducted using a library-centric research approach, reveals that Indonesian youths' daily routines blend traditional and modern cultural practices which profoundly influenced by technological advancements, social media prevalence, and globalization. Interestingly, the findings highlight that no communication campaigns have been launched to address diabetes prevention among Indonesian adolescents from a multicultural perspective. The research also found that it is crucial for DMT2 prevention initiatives to develop effective strategies that can penetrate the subconscious mindset of individuals living in urban and rural areas while considering Indonesia's diverse cultural context. Efforts should be made to raise awareness and provide guidance tailored to different cultural backgrounds to combat the rising problem of diabetes among Indonesian youth.
Indonesian college students (mahasiswa) have a long tradition of participating in Indonesia’s rural development. Initiated in early 1971 by three national universities, the Kuliah Kerja Nyata program has served rural development by sending mass college students to participate in rural community service agendas. The ministry of education’s recent implementation of ”Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka” policies has expanded students’ opportunities to experience the learning process outside of universities. On the other hand, contemporary rural policies, through the implementation of Village Law 2014, have established village autonomy, thus creating a new space for various actors to participate and collaborate with the village government to conduct development programs. The paper argues that both policies have simultaneously emerged to connect each agenda, which could establish cooperation related to rural development. Here we intend to track and identify what and how students can participate in the rural development agenda by analyzing two different policies specifically in the east coast community of Lampung Province. It is expected that the policy analysis result could decipher various corridors and regulations that could support college students’ involvement in developing rural Indonesia. For this inquiry, papers from international journals that are indexed by SCOPUS are accessed using the VosViewer 1.6.17 software. Nonetheless, 533 articles from the years 1975 to 2021 were picked with the keywords ”CHILD PROTECTION, CHID ABUSE, AND CHILD POLICY.” Scholarly interest in this subject increased significantly between the years 2017 and 2021; the highest year was 2018 when 50 publications on the subject of child protection were published. In general, the findings of bibliometric study on ”CHILD PROTECTION, CHILD ABUSE, AND CHILD POLICY,” especially forms of violence and the causes of violence against children, are currently being researched in the field of psychology.
