The analysis used in this study demonstrated an ability to detect characteristics of tooth brushing motion, showing tooth brushing motion to change depending on the brushed location. These results also suggest that more detailed instructions might be required according to patient's oral condition.
Ce3+ ion is an important activator for various phosphors, but no detailed study has been performed on KCl:Ce3+. A Ce3+-doped KCl blue phosphor is synthesized from an aqueous solution of KCl − CeCl3. The structural and optical properties of the KCl:Ce3+ phosphor are investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, photoluminescence (PL) analysis, PL excitation spectroscopy, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, and luminescence decay measurement. The XRD data indicate that the KCl host lattice can be expanded when Ce atoms are incorporated. The phosphor exhibits a blue emission doublet at ∼400 nm, which is characteristic of the 5d → 4f transitions in Ce3+. The dependence of the PL intensity on the Ce3+ concentration up to 23 mol% and that on the lattice temperature in the T = 20 − 450 K range are measured and analyzed in detail. An increase in the luminescence decay time with increasing emission wavelength is also observed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
