“…In the present case the strong f → d excitation band is positioned around 256 nm. As shown in the same figure, there are several excitation peaks in the longer wavelength region attributed to f → f transitions from the 7 F 6 ground state to the different excited states, which are located at 304 nm, 319 nm, 342 nm, 371 nm, 353 nm, 379 nm 447 nm and 487 nm respectively. Some of these f → f excitation wavelengths are quite strong, leading to intense emission spectra.…”

“…Figure clearly shows that excitation spectrum is dominated by 4f → 5d transitions of the Ce 3 + ion and 4f → 4f transitions of the Tb 3 + ion are suppressed. The 5d → 4f transition of Ce 3 + is electric‐dipole allowed and is several orders of magnitude stronger than the forbidden 4f → 4f electronic transitions within the 4f n configuration of Tb 3 + . Therefore, Ce 3 + can strongly absorb UV or near‐UV radiation and efficiently transfer its energy to Tb 3 + to enhance the emission intensity of Tb 3 + .…”

“…were studied on fracto ML. Recently, γ‐irradiated KBr:Ce , KCl:Ce,Tb ,(K 0.5 Na 0.5 )Cl:Dy ,(KNa)Br:Ce phosphors were studied on Fracto‐ML as well as it is being used for ML dosimetry. Also the fracture produced during slow and impulsive deformation of solids was studied by Chandra et.al .A survey of the literature reveals that practical size studies have been mainly restricted to organic compounds.…”

“…[17] It is well known that interesting luminescence behaviors occur by energy transfer from sensitizer to activator in many hosts. [18,19] Therefore, it is Page 4 of 32 A c c e p t e d M a n u s c r i p t logical to enhance the emission intensity and obtain broad-band excitation in the near ultraviolet (n-UV) region by co-doping Ce 3+ and Tb 3+ .…”
