Programmed cell death-ligands 1 (PD-L1) is a key immune checkpoint protein and a promising therapeutic target for malignancy tumor immunotherapy. The prognostic value of PD-L1 in patients with bone and soft tissue sarcoma remains controversial. Therefore, this meta-analysis is conducted to evaluate the associations of PD-L1 expression with overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), and clinicopathological characteristics of sarcomaA comprehensive literature search of PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and Cochrane Library was conducted for relevant studies. A total of 14 studies published from 2013 to 2017 were included. The pooled hazard ratios (HRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were extracted from included studies to assess the association between PD-L1 expression and OS, PFS of patients with sarcoma. Other relevant data were extracted to evaluate the correlations of PD-L1 expression with risk and clinicopathological characteristics of sarcoma. Stata 12.0 software was applied to calculate the strength of association between PD-L1 expression and sarcoma.In total, 14 articles containing 15 independent studies and 1,451 patients were included in this meta-analysis. We found that the high PD-L1 expression was associated with poorer overall survival (HR 1.27, 95% CI: 0.70–1.84 P = .000) and poorer events-free survival (HR 2.05, 95% CI: 1.55–2.70, P = .000) in bone and soft-tissue sarcoma patients. Additionally, we conducted subgroup analysis according to histology type, ethnicity, target of PD-L1 assessment, cutoff, the significant correlations with poor overall survival and events-free survival were also observed. In contrast none of the clinicopathological characteristics (gender, age, tumor site, tumor grade, tumor depth, tumor necrosis rate, metastasis, recurrence, chemotherapy, radiotherapy) was found to be associated with PD-L1 expression in our analysis.The findings from this meta-analysis indicate that PD-L1 expression might be a useful predicative factor of poor prognosis for patients with bone and soft tissue sarcoma.

Introduction: It is common that personality disorder (PD) co-occurs with major depressive disorder (MDD). In the current literature, there is a dearth of information on the co-occurrence of PD and MDD among Chinese population. Materials and Methods: 609 individuals were randomly sampled from outpatients diagnosed as MDD in Shanghai Mental Health Center. Co-morbidity of PDs was assessed using the Personality Diagnostic Questionnaire Fourth Edition Plus (PDQ-4+) and eligible subjects were interviewed with the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Axis II (SCID-II). The score of PDQ-4+ and the rate of SCID-II PD between subjects diagnosed with MDD and those with anxiety disorders (AD) were compared. Results: Two hundred fifty-eight outpatients (42.36%) with MDD were recognized to possess at least one criterion of diagnosis for PD, according to the DSM-IV. The most prevalent PD was depressive PD (14.61%), followed by avoidant (11.49%) and borderline (11.49%) PD. Cluster C PDs (anxious and panic PD) were the most common PD types (12.12%) when compared to other clusters. Compared to patients with AD, individuals with MDD were significantly more likely to have paranoid PD (6.6% vs. 3.3%, p = 0.011), borderline PD (11.5% vs. 3.7%, p = 0.000), passive-aggressive PD (5.6% vs. 2.4%, p = 0.007), and depressive PD (14.6% vs. 7.8%, p = 0.000). Discussion: The finding indicates that there is a high prevalence of PD among patients with MDD. More significant co-morbidity rates of PDs in MDD have been found when compared with AD. Further studies for the longitudinal impact of the PD-MDD co-morbidity are in need.

Objective This study aimed to provide insight into the efficacy of cognitive-behavioral therapy for psychosis (CBTp) in patients with “clinical high risk of psychosis (CHR-P)”. Methods Major scientific databases were searched up to April 17, 2020. Randomized controlled trials in CHR-P individuals, comparing CBTp with needs-based interventions (NBI, including treatment as usual or nonspecific control treatment) were included, following PRISMA guidelines. The primary outcome (efficacy) was transition to psychosis by 6 months, 12 months, 24 months, and over 24 months. Secondary outcomes were change in attenuated psychotic symptoms, depression, distress, improvements in functioning, and quality of life. Results Ten randomized controlled studies met inclusion criteria. The comparisons included 1128 participants. CBTp was significantly more efficacious in reducing rate of transition to psychosis by 6 months (after post-hoc sensitivity analysis) (relative risk [RR] = 0.44, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.26, 0.73), 12 months (RR = 0.44, 95% CI: 0.30, 0.64), 12 months (RR = 0.46, 95%CI: 0.30, 0.69), and over 24 months (RR = 0.58, 95% CI: 0.35, 0.95) after treatment, compared with those receiving NBI. CBTp was also associated with more reduced attenuated psychotic symptoms by 12 months (SMD = −0.17, 95% CI: −0.33, −0.02) and by 24 months (SMD = −0.24, 95% CI: −0.43, −0.06). No beneficial effects on functioning, depression, quality of life, or distress were observed favoring CBTp. Conclusions CBTp is effective in reducing both psychosis transition rates and attenuated psychotic symptoms for the prodromal stage of psychosis. It is a promising intervention at the preventative stage.

BackgroundBulimia nervosa (BN) is characterized by recurrent episodes of eating large amounts of food without control. Studies have found positive correlations of BN symptoms with impulsive traits and negative affect. However, the network relationship supporting BN symptoms is unclear.MethodsThe study participants included female BN patients (146) and healthy controls (HCs, 146). The participants were matched for age. All participants completed the Eating Disorder Examination Questionnaire 6.0, Barratt Impulsiveness Scale-11, Beck Anxiety Inventory, and Beck Depression Inventory. We characterized the centrality parameters of BN, impulsiveness, and anxiety and depression symptoms of BN patients compared with HCs.ResultsAmong all symptoms in the constructed BN group network, Shape dissatisfaction had the highest strength. In the BN group network, three clusters of symptoms (“ED-specific symptoms,” “impulsivity,” and “anxiety and depression”) were linked to each other by several symptoms. Compared to the HC network, impulsiveness was strongly associated with Concerns about Others Seeing One Eat in the BN network.ConclusionThis study shows that ED-specific symptoms, i.e., Shape dissatisfaction, play a key role in BN. The cognition of “shape dissatisfaction” is a basis, and impulsivity and emotional symptoms are maintaining factors that may lead to BN development.
