The wave-equation-datuming (WED) technique is a necessary alternative to the conventional static corrections when the surface-consistent assumption is invalid. Much pervious work had been done on the 2-D cases which demonstrated its applicability potential to be extended to 3-D. In this paper, a "step-by-step" recursive 3-D frequency-space WED scheme is presented to deal with real data. The processing results revealed that 3-D WED is a more reasonable datum-correction method thereby the accuracy of velocity analysis and the imaging quality are improved significantly.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
