Purpose: This study was designed to construct a predictive model to explain quality of life of stomach cancer patients with gastrectomy. Methods: Data were collected from July 10 to August 30, 2013 through survey using self-reported questionnaires. A total of 218 patients with gastrectomy was recruited from three different hospitals. Outcome variables were exogenous ones (self efficacy and social support) and endogenous ones (depression, perceived health status, self care behavior, and quality of life). Results: Goodness-of-fit of the hypothetical model was x 2 =143.37, RMSEA=.07 CFI=.95, TLI=.93 SRMR=.05. Self care behavior, depression and perceived health status had significant direct effects on quality of life. Self efficacy and social support were affected quality of life indirectly. These variables explained 67.9% of total variance of quality of life, and self-care behavior was the most influential factor for quality of life. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggested that self care behavior must be considered as an intervention strategy to improve quality of life. Also a development of a specific intervention program to promote self efficacy and control depression for patients with gastrectomy is essential to facilitate their self care behaviors. Methods: Participants selected for the final analysis were 208 nurses working in 2 general hospitals in Busan and Masan. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation and Hierarchial Multiple Regression with SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: Compassion fatigue had a significant positive effect on burnout, while Compassion satisfaction had a negative effect on burnout, but Nursing practice environment had no effect on burnout. The explained variance for burnout was 61% and compassion satisfaction was the most significant factor in burnout of nurses. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of erectile capacity, lower urinary tract symptoms, self-esteem, and resilience on the quality of life of prostate cancer patients. Methods: Data were collected using a self-reported questionnaire survey. Participants were 140 patients diagnosed and treated for prostate cancer in hospitals in Busan and Daegu cities. Measured variables were erectile capacity, lower urinary tract symptoms, self-esteem, resilience and quality of life. Result: Erectile capacity, lower urinary tract symptoms, self-esteem, and resilience all had significant effects on quality of life. Explained variance for quality of life was 40.6% and lower urinary tract symptoms was the most significant factor affecting the quality of life of prostate cancer patients. Conclusion: The results from this study suggest that erectile capacity, lower urinary tract symptoms, self-esteem, and resilience should be considered the main influential factors when developing intervention strategies to increase the quality of life of prostate cancer patients.
