Purpose: This study aimed to identify relationships between compassion fatigue, burnout, and turnover intention in Korean hospital nurses. Methods: In total, 142 hospital nurses were surveyed as part of data collection. Data related to compassion fatigue, burnout, and turnover intention were collected using a questionnaire between May 2011 and September 2011. The data analysis was performed using PASW 19.0 program, which included one-way ANOVA, independent t-tests, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and hierarchical regression analysis. Results: This study detected a positive correlation between compassion fatigue and burnout(r= .37, p< .001), and turnover intention(r= .55, p< .001). Compassion fatigue accounted for 29.6% of the variance for turnover intention among Korean hospital nurses. Conclusion: The results indicate that it is necessary to reduce compassion fatigue, and turnover intention among Korean hospital nurses.
The purpose of this study was to explore convergence on the theory of unpleasant symptom, and factors affecting quality of life of liver cirrhosis patients. A total of 198 liver cirrhosis patients were recruited symptom experiences, physiologic factors, psychological factors, situational factors, and quality of life. Data were collected from March, to May, 2014 and analyzed using one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlations, multiple regressions analysis with PASW (SPSS) 21.0. Variables such as duration of liver cirrhosis (β=.19, p<.001), symptom experiences(β=.19, p=.032), physical(β=.15, p=.008), psychological(β=.39, p<.001) and situational factors(β=.32, p<.001) explained 51.8% of variance in quality of life(F=15.57, p<.001). The symptom experiences, physiological, psychological and situational factors should be considered for caring liver cirrhosis patients. This study was conducted to examine the effects of a career coaching program on nursing students' career decision making self efficacy, self-leadership, and employment-stress. The study was designed using a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design, and data were collected between June 15 and July 31, 2016. The participants consisted of 62 4-year nursing students in D College of B City who were assigned to an experimental group (n=32) or a control group (n=34). The career coaching program consisted of 10 sessions of combined individual coaching, small group coaching and group coaching. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, a t-test, χ2 test, and paired t-test with the SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. After receiving the career coaching program, a difference was observed in career decision making self efficacy (t=4.99, p<0.001), self-leadership (t=5.08, p<0.001), and employment-stress (t=5.08, p<0.001) of the experimental group. The results of this study indicate that the career coaching program was effective at increasing career decision making self efficacy and self-leadership, as well as decreasing employment-stress in nursing students.
Purpose. The purpose of this study was to examine the related factors of quality of life (QOL) among middle-aged male.Method. The participants in this study were 144 middle aged male. Between October and November 2016, data were collected through questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using PASW (SPSS) 21.0 program, and one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.Results. The mean QOL of this study was 2.99/5. The significant correlates of QOL were family support (β=.21, p=.024), health status (β=.24, p=.003), workplace spirituality (β=.55, p<.001), and these variables explained 55.9% of variance in QOL.
Conclusion.The study suggests that family support workplace spirituality are an important factors in explaining QOL of the middle-aged male. Therefore, it is necessary to be considered family support and workplace spirituality for promoting life satisfaction of middle-aged male.
