Family is an important social unit that forming youth identity, but in the other hand family is also a place where contestation happened. Power-relation inside family is commonly happened during several activities such as watching television, having dinner, and prior go to school. The objective of this research is to unmasking the reality of power relation in television watching activities. Qualitative method is used to dissect this phenomenon. In the context of families that only have one television, power relation in watching television is inevitable, especially the prime time, because at this time all family members watch television. This study found that there are several actors who hold important role in power relation, such as Little brother, Grandma, and Father. Their domination have made rural youth become marginalized on their own house
The agricultural sector is holding a pivotal position to national income but however, the importance of the agricultural sector is not supported by the regeneration of agriculture workers. The number of agricultural workers continuously decreasing during a time, in order to understand these phenomena there is a number of factors that have led to a decline in youth participation in the agriculture sector, yet there is only limited research that is trying to determine the relationship between socialization agent and working preference. This study has several objectives, among others: (1) Identifying youth interactions with peer-group in the agricultural sector. (2) Identifying youth attitudes towards agriculture work (3) Analyzing the correlation between interactions with friends in the agricultural sector with youth attitudes towards agriculture work. This research uses a quantitative method with a descriptive - correlational approach and was taken place in Ciasmara Village, Pamijahan District, Bogor Regency from March 2019 until Juli 2019. A total of 129 youth were selected as research respondents in this study. This study found that parents and peers have important positions in making youth interested in working in the agricultural sector. The two primary socialization agents were able to influence youth with different approaches. Parents through work-involvement as family labor meanwhile, the peer-groups through doing activities together in farmland.
Agriculture is one of potential sector that contribute positevely to national income. But Paradoxicaly, the importance of agricutural sector is not followed by their workers regeneration. Rural youth is prefer to go from agricultural work due to several justification such as land conversion, less-benefit, unprestige work, and negative construction by the social system. The objectives of this research are: (1) Identifying the ritual practice in agriculture sector, (2) Identifying the rural-youth involvement in helping their parents in agricultural work, (3) Analyzing corelation between rural youth involvement and rural youth cognitive and affective towards agriculture work. Mixed Method Concurrent was used as research method, taken place in Ciasmara Village from March 2019 to August 2019, 129 youth were taken as research sample. This research found that ritual of Sedekah Bumi still exist in Ciasmara Village, rural – youth still involve in helping their parents in agriculture sector, mostly in harvesting period. Rural youth involvement in agriculture sector correlated to rural – youth cognitive and affentive.
Bogor Regency is one of the Jakarta’s buffer cities that able to provide alternative tourism locations for the citizen of the capital and surrounding areas. Ciasmara Village is one of the tourism villages located in Bogor Regency. The main problem encountered by tourism in Ciasmara Village is the lack of promotion and limited infrastructure. These two problems are the biggest factors that hinder the tourism potential of Ciasmara village from being optimally managed. The purpose of this community service activity is to optimize tourism potential through the information and communication technology. Furthermore, the other purpose is to support the behavior shifting of the youth organization in terms of utilizing information and communication technology for the benefit of Ciasmara Tourism village promotion. The method used in this community service activity was discussion and direct training to Ciasmara Village's youth organization. The objective of this community service is Ciasmara Village's youth organization. In the beginning, the target amount of the training participants was at least 20 young people, because there were only 20 active members of the youth organization. In its implementation, this activity was attended by 31-35 participants, indicating that this community service was enticing for Ciasmara village's youths. Through interviews with the head of the youth organizations and the participants, they acknowledged that they were interested in participating in this activity because they felt they had a responsibility to develop village promotions, some of the youth said that they had social media and could promote their area for free. From interviews with several participants and village officials, it was found that this community service activity was able to motivate them to study photography more seriously and utilize social media for the promotion of rural tourism. This can be recognized from the development of official Instagram social media account owned by Ciasmara Village which is indeed focused on promoting tourism and governance in Ciasmara village.
Rural area cannot be separated with poverty, according to Statistics Center Board (BPS), there are 18 milions rural people live below poverty line. Rural poverty has become many focus in development studies. There is a siginificant difference between rural poverty and urban poverty. Poor society in urban area are more vulnurable compared to poor society in rural area. In rural area, poor people tends to have informal social security that helps them to survive. This research aimed to determine the role of loan institution in providing social safety net for rural poor. Qualitative method was used to help us to have a better understanding about the debt institution in rural areas. This research found that rural poor have several alternatives source of debt that enable them to survive in a vulnerable situation. Most of people tend to see for a realistic loan institution with low interest (without interest is more preferable), low risk in returning the debt and fast in providing the money.
The phenomenon of the high number of rural-youth migration from rural areas need to be studied from the perspective on how the agricultural livelihood is constructed by actors within the village. This research tries to focus on how rural-youth interpret messages on television about agricultural livelihood. Previous studies have explained that there are several things that can cause youth in the village to migrate out of the village. This study aims to (1) identify the characteristics of youth in Ciasmara Village, Pamijahan District, Bogor Regency, (2) Rural-youth Exposure in watching television. (3) Perceptions of rural youth on agricultural information representations on television. This research was conducted in Ciasmara village, Pamijahan District, Bogor Regency from March 2020 to August 2020 using quantitative research methods with a descriptive-comparative approach. 120 youth were selected as research samples. This research found that some of rural-youth in Ciasmara village admitted to having watched agricultural programs on television either on the news or in other programs in the last six months. The types of agricultural information that rural-youth in Ciasmara village have watched are mostly related to cultivation, harvest failure, pest attacks, and low agricultural prices.
The objectives of this research were (1) identifying parents’ land ownership status in Pamijahan Sub-District, Bogor District, (2) Identifying parents’ occupation in Pamijahan Sub-District, Bogor District, (3) Identifying the youth preference towards residency place in the future, (4) analyzing the correlation between land ownership status, parents’ occupation, youth future residency preference and rural-youth attitude towards agricultural sector. This research was performed in Ciasmara Village, Pamijahan Sub-District, Bogor District, from 2019 to 2020, using quantitative method and chi-square to identify the association between land ownership status, parents’ occupation, youth future residency preference, and rural-youth attitude towards agricultural sector. This research found that parents’ occupation and youth future preference towards residency place were correlated with rural-youth attitude towards agricultural sector
This study was conducted to identify the perception of rural youth on tourism potential in Ciasmara Village. In addition, this study also tries to describe individual characteristics, frequency of visits to tourist objects, analyse the relationship between individual characteristics and frequency of visits with youth perceptions. Indicators on individual characteristics include age, gender, and level of education. Indicators on the frequency of youth visits include the frequency of visits to waterfalls and the frequency of visits to hot springs. The research was carried out in Ciasmara Village, Pamijahan District, Bogor Regency from April 2019 to August 2020. This method uses two approaches, namely a Survey approach to see the distribution of perceptions. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique with descriptive-correlational quantitative methods, descriptive statistical data analysis techniques and non-parametric statistics (Rank Spearman Chi-Square). This research found that youth in Ciasmara village have a positive perception of tourism potential in Ciasmara village but from the results of in-depth interviews it was also found that there are several challenges that need to be considered if they want to develop Ciasmara Village as a tourist village
