Organic materials with long‐lived, color‐tunable phosphorescence are potentially useful for optical recording, anti‐counterfeiting, and bioimaging. Herein, we develop a series of novel host–guest organic phosphors allowing dynamic color tuning from the cyan (502 nm) to orange red (608 nm). Guest materials are employed to tune the phosphorescent color, while the host materials interact with the guest to activate the phosphorescence emission. These organic phosphors have an ultra‐long lifetime of 0.7 s and a maximum phosphorescence efficiency of 18.2 %. Although color‐tunable inks have already been developed using visible dyes, solution‐processed security inks that are temperature dependent and display time‐resolved printed images are unprecedented. This strategy can provide a crucial step towards the next‐generation of security technologies for information handling.
With the rapid development of the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), vehicular communication networks have been widely studied in recent years. Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) can provide efficient real-time information exchange among vehicles without the need of pervasive roadside communication infrastructure. Although mobile cellular networks are capable of providing wide coverage for vehicular users, the requirements of services that require stringent realtime safety cannot always be guaranteed by cellular networks. Therefore, the Heterogeneous Vehicular NETwork (HetVNET), which integrates cellular networks with DSRC, is a potential solution for meeting the communication requirements of the ITS. Although there are a plethora of reported studies on either DSRC or cellular networks, joint research of these two areas is still at its infancy. This paper provides a comprehensive survey on recent wireless networks techniques applied to HetVNETs. Firstly, the requirements and use cases of safety and non-safety services are summarized and compared. Consequently, a Het-VNET framework that utilizes a variety of wireless networking techniques is presented, followed by the descriptions of various applications for some typical scenarios. Building such HetVNETs requires a deep understanding of heterogeneity and its associated challenges. Thus, major challenges and solutions that are related to both the Medium Access Control (MAC) and network layers in HetVNETs are studied and discussed in detail. Finally, we outline open issues that help to identify new research directions in HetVNETs. IndexTerms-Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V),
Copper-catalyzed Suzuki–Miyaura-type cross-coupling and carboboration processes are reported. The cross-couplings function well with a variety of substituted aryl iodides and aryl boronic esters and allows for orthogonal reactivity compared to palladium-catalyzed processes. The carboboration method includes both alkynes and allenes and provides access to highly substituted and stereodefined vinyl boronic esters. The alkyne carboboration method is highlighted in the simple one-pot synthesis of Tamoxifen.
The broadband orthogonal frequency and code division multiplexing (OFCDM) system with two-dimensional spreading (time and frequency domain spreading) is becoming a very attractive technique for high-rate data transmission in future wireless communication systems. In this paper, a quasianalytical study is presented on the downlink performance of the OFCDM system with hybrid multi-code interference (MCI) cancellation and minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection. The weights of MMSE are derived and updated stage by stage of MCI cancellation. The effects of channel estimation errors and sub-carrier correlation are also studied. It is shown that the hybrid detection scheme performs much better than pure MMSE when good channel estimation is guaranteed. The power ratio between the pilot channel and all data channels should be set to 0.25, which is a near optimum value for the two-dimensional spreading system with time domain spreading factor ( ) of 4 and 8. On the other hand, in a slow fading channel, a large value of the channel estimation window size , where is an odd integer, is expected. However, = 3 is large enough for the system with = 8 while = 5 is more desirable for the system with = 4.Although performance of the hybrid detection degrades in the presence of the sub-carrier correlation, the hybrid detection still works well even the correlation coefficient is as high as 0.7. Finally, given , although performance improves when the frequency domain spreading factor ( ) increases, the frequency diversity gain is almost saturated for a large value of (i.e., 32).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
