A fiber-tracking algorithm was used to extract fractional anisotropy of bilateral cingulum bundles in patients with probable Alzheimer's disease and normal aging controls. In addition, their hippocampal volumes were measured manually. Relative to normal controls, Alzheimer's disease patients showed a significant reduction of fractional anisotropy and hippocampal volumes. Significant correlation was observed between fractional anisotropy values and volumes of hippocampi and mini-mental state examination scores. This study suggests that lower anisotropy of cingulum bundles is associated with cognitive dysfunction and atrophy of the limbic system.
As the main heat exchanger for cooling tower, the performance of cooling tower packing will directly affect the cooling effect of the cooling tower. So it is important to develop the new cooling tower packing and test the performance. In this paper, the empirical formula of the new ramp-type packing was deduced based on an experimental study of packing performance. And the author analyse the factor affecting the number of transfer units(NTU) find that the NTU is not only related to gas-water ratio. According to the experimental study, the author deduced the new formula of the NTU and verified that the new formula of NTU is more accurate than the traditional formula Within a certain range of parameters.
Practice teaching is an important educational task for hydropower construction engineering major in vocational and technical colleges. Guided by Conceive Design Implement Operate (CDIO), students could get hands-on experience from practical projects under experiential learning environments, and then develop engineering capacity and project literacy. Due to the introduction of CDIO, the original unrelated and dispersed curriculums became comprehensive and continuous engineering design trainings in the form of projects. Students were divided into groups. The ability of thinking and problems solving for practical engineering could be easily cultured by a collection of comprehensive group trainings, such as program discussions, designs, and drawings.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
