The H-shaped beams reinforced by the horizontal stiffeners at the beam end can be expected improvements in the plastic deformation capacity. The purpose of this paper is to show plastic deformation capacity of the H-shaped beams and to clarify the optimal stiffener shape. For this purpose, authors conduct cyclic loading tests on the several parameters ( length of the beam, thickness of the web and length, width and thickness of the stiffener ), and confirm the distinction of plastic deformation capacity related to the stiffener shape. Furthermore, in addition to the loading tests, by using the numerical analysis and the energy method, authors fix the required rigidity and the required length of stiffeners according to the demanded performance.

This paper presents the outline of the building to which 1000N class ultra-high strength steel has applied for the first time in the world. In addition, experiments and FEM analyses on 1000N class welded H-section columns assumed to be under the condition that horizontal force and axial force due to earthquakes are exerted are reported.

This study deals with the elasto − plasttc beam − column behavior of circular stee1 tube columns infilled with reinforced concrete subjected to fire . Based upon the stress − strain characteristics of materials at high temperatures and the 』 mechanics of column deflection

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
