Electrochemical properties of C60F46 and C70F5, have been studied by cyclic voltammetry (CV) in CH2CI2 containing 0.1 M tetrabutylammonium hexafluorophosphate (TBAPF6). The electrochemical reductions of C70F54 are reported for the first time. The reduction potential of C70F is more positive than that of C70 by 1.57 V. The differences in electrochemical properties between C70F and 073 are parallel to the differences between C60F, and C. Based on the relationship between the reduction potential and electron affinity (Ea), the E, of C70F54 is estimated to be Ca. 4.42 eV, which is 1.76 eV larger than that of 075.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
