Contructed identity about women has passed down from generation togeneration in common Indonesian literature is feminine. However, contemporaryIndonesian women writers through their works these days has been trying to reconstructthis given identity with something new in accordance with recent reality and currentexperience. In the view of Gynocritics, woman by herself have rights and abilities toassemble their identity without having to be dictated by the society, and regardless ofwhether the identity is admissible or not. The material objects of this research were OkkyMadasari’s Entrok and Laksmi Pamuntjak’s Amba. In achieving the purpose of the studyto reveal the novelty values about the life and identity of women, it is conducted throughGynocritism reading along with content analysis techniques. From the results of theanalysis, women authors tries to construct new identity for women which is more credibleand balanced for women. This reconstruction is intended to leave the old formed identitythat is no longer relevant to the progress of the world of women today.
This research aimed to describe and analyze narcisstic women’s profile in trilogy Si Parasit Lajang by Ayu Utami. This qualitative research deployed a descriptive method. The data of this research were sentences that contained of narcisstic women’s profile. A real form of self-actualization of someone who loved himself/herself excessively was known as narcissistic. Women as individuals showed themself excessively and confidently. Moreover, they tended to not to be able to adjust themselves, therefore women, in social life were more likely to highlight the convenience of being alone. Based on the results of research, it can be conluded that the narcisstic women’s profile in Si Parasit Lajang by Ayu Utami could be desribed in the feelings of grandiose, full-of fantacy, unique, a willing to be adored, interpersonal exploitation, the absence of empathy and arogant.
The patriarchal culture system that has rooted in Indonesia makes the women marginalized in every aspect of life. Women in Indonesia have long resisted the patriarchal culture. The resistance of women is reflected in literature. The purpose of this study was to describe the forms of women’s resistance to the patriarchal culture in the novel system Geni Jora by Abidah ElKhalieqy and Jalan Bandungan by NH. Dini. This research data were in the form of sentences, dialogue, monologue, and the expose of the narrator the stating the female forms of resistance against the patriarchal culture systems in both the novel. Based on the analysis of data, the opposition can be seen in various forms, among them the struggle for equal rights in the field of education, fighting for equal rights in the economic field, fighting for freedom of doing things or issuing opinions that are considered taboo by women, and fighting for freedom to make choices.
