Background:Trichodynia refers to pain, discomfort, and/or paresthesia of the scalp. Trichodynia may be associated with anxiety.Aim:To assess serum vitamin B12, folate, thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), ferritin, and zinc levels, and to investigate anxiety in telogen alopecia patients with trichodynia.Materials and Methods:The study included 31 telogen alopecia patients who complained of trichodynia and 30 telogen alopecia patients without trichodynia. Their serum vitamin B12, folate, TSH, ferritin, and zinc levels were assessed and their anxiety levels were scored using the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI).Results:No significant difference was found in the serum levels of vitamin B12, folate, TSH, ferritin, and zinc in the patient and control groups. The anxiety scores in both groups were similar.Conclusion:Our data provide no evidence for the association of serum vitamin B12, folate, TSH, ferritin, and zinc levels or anxiety scores with trichodynia.

Objectives: Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a traumatic event that affects many facets of the injured people's lives. One aspect is sexual functioning. The purpose of this study is to identify the sexual problems of women with SCI and determine their level of knowledge about sexuality. Methods: Twenty-six women with SCI for longer than 6 months were evaluated. Demographic information, sexual experiences were surveyed. Patients were also asked if and how they received sexual health consultation after SCI. Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and Beck Depression Inventory were evaluated. Results: In this study, average age of the women with SCI was 32.96±8.23 years (22-50 years). Eight patients had regular sexual intercourse while one married woman did not have any sexual relationship after SCI. Twenty-four of the patients in the study received no information about pregnancy or sexual health after SCI. All women were willing to receive information about sexuality after SCI. These patients expected the doctors to start the conversation about sexuality rather than asking about it. FSFI survey revealed that all the patients had sexual dysfunction. A long-term disability can have a profound impact on a woman's innate sense of sexuality, sexual function and, occasionally, fertility. Various myths about sexuality and disability in society, such as 'disabled women are asexual, only independently functioning women can handle a sexual relationship, disabled women cannot be mothers, disabled women who are single are celibate' , results in the sexual well-being of disabled women being neglected. [3][4][5] Comparatively little research on sexuality in the population with SCI focuses specifically on the sexual concerns of women. 2,3,5,6 However, in recent years there has been growing acknowledgement of the sexual concerns of women with SCI. Despite this, the conveyance of this knowledge to the women with SCI appears to be insufficient. 6 Previous research has shown that the majority of women with SCI are dissatisfied with the amount and the quality of information about sexual functioning and sex life provided at rehabilitation centers. 1 The purpose of this study is to identify the sexual problems of women with SCI and determine their level of knowledge about sexuality and their condition in our country.

The relationship between the evaluation of Turkish university students of their family problems and their age, gender and identity status was studied. The study group was composed of 291 students from Hacettepe University. The results of the study showed that there is a direct relation between gender and Identity Foreclosure and Moratorium, and between age and identity status. Depending on the evaluation of insensitivity and inconsistency within the family, the Identity Achievement scores of the students decrease, however, the scores of Moratorium and Identity Diffusion increase. An increase in the evaluation of health and economic problems within the family seems to be related to a decrease in Moratorium scores, and the evaluation of a disorganized family and incompatible parents seems to be related to a decrease in the scores of Identity Foreclosure.

Digital coupons, generally considered as a marketing strategy to increase sales and customer loyalty, are important elements in the observation of customer attitudes and perceptions. The main question in the literature is whether these coupons should be redeemed or not, and their effectiveness is discussed depending on their use. However, even if digital coupons are not redeemed after they are acquired in online environments, the way they are obtained or perceived can provide marketers with information about customer attitudes and behaviors. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of digital coupons in digital business models based on consumers' perceptions and attitudes. Attitudes towards digital discount coupons were examined using 10 different dimensions and how these dimensions were influenced by various variables was questioned. The study surveyed 300 participants. As a result of the analysis, it was revealed that the impact of digital coupons on online purchase behavior should be considered from a holistic perspective. Accordingly, other benefits that coupons create for sellers should not be overlooked in addition to coupon redemption.

Kronik Pruritus hastalarında psikiyatrik profil Amaç: Kaşıntı ya da pruritus, kaşıma isteğine neden olan rahatsızlık verici duyu olup, deri hastalıkları içinde en sık görülen semptomdur. Kronik pruritus, birçok deri ve sistemik hastalıklarda görülebildiği gibi psikiyatrik bozukluklarda da görülebilmektedir. Bu çalışmadaki amaç, birincil deri hastalıkları ve kaşıntıya sebep olabilecek sistemik hastalıkların hariç tutulduğu kronik prurituslu hastalarda kaşıntının özelliklerinin, eşlik eden psikiyatrik bozuklukların ve depresif belirtilerin araştırılmasıdır. Yöntem: Çalışmamıza 126 kronik prurituslu hasta alındı. Hastaların sosyodemografik verilerini ve hastalığıyla ilgili özelliklerini içeren form dolduruldu. DSM-IV-TR (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-IV-Text Revision) tanı ve değerlendirme sistemine göre SCID-I/CV (Structered Clinical Interview for DSM-IV, Clinical Version) uygulanarak psikiyatrik tanılar araştırıldı. Beck Depresyon Envanteri (BDE) uygulandı. Bulgular: Kronik prurituslu hastaların % 70,6'sında 1 ile 3 arasında değişen sayılarda psikiyatrik bozukluk saptandı. En sık görülen psikiyatrik bozukluklar ise % 34,1 ile depresif bozukluklar olarak tespit edilmiştir. Psikiyatrik tanı alan grupta yaygın kaşıntı ve BDE puanları, psikiyatrik tanı almayan gruba göre anlamlı derecede yüksek saptandı (p<0,05). Tüm kronik prurituslu hastaların % 62'sinde hafiften şiddetliye değişen oranlarda depresif belirtiler saptandı. Sonuçlar: Birincil deri ve sistemik hastalığı saptanamayan kronik prurituslu hastalarda yüksek oranda psi-kiyatrik bozuklukların görülmesi ve özellikle depresif belirtilerin eşlik etmesi, bu hastalarda psikiyatrik değerlendirmenin önemine işaret etmektedir.

Objective: This study determined the family and personal characteristics as well as the risk factors pertaining to students in the 1st and 2nd years of three Faculties at Hacettepe University in order to understand the factors that affect their perceptions of violence. Method: A total of 904 university students were reached. An informed consent form was attached to the questionnaire and students were asked to fill the questionnaire after giving their consent. Students were given 16 descriptions of behaviors involving violence, and they were asked to name this behavior as violence or not. The individuals who named an act as violent was given "1" and the total score for all the behaviors ranged from 0 to16. Students with high scores were considered more sensitive towards violence. Results: The mean scores of female participants were higher than those of male participants. It was found that females were more aware of the violence and the difference between the genders was greater for perceptions of physical and sexual violence. Education and employment status of the parents were associated with the perceptions of young people about violence. Conclusion: Studies to increase the awareness of violence in males with the aim of reducing violence and its consequences would be a great value.
