Salah satu penatalaksanaan asma yaitu latihan pernapasan diafragma yang dapat meningkatkan fungsi paru pasien asma. Tujuan penelitian untuk menguji pengaruh latihan pernapasan diafragma terhadap peningkatan Arus Puncak Ekspirasi (APE) dan penurunan frekuensi kekambuhan pasien asma. Penelitian true experiment pretest-posttest with control group melibatkan 28 subjek penelitian secara random. Subjek dibagi menjadi kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol melalui randomisasi sejumlah 14 orang untuk masing-masing kelompok. Pengukuran APE menggunakan peak flow meter dan frekuensi kekambuhan dicatat dengan lembar catatan observasi. Hasil penelitian terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan rerata selisih APE kelompok intervensi (mean 126,43±22,05 L/menit) dan kelompok kontrol (mean 52,14±56,45 L/menit) dengan p 0,001, serta terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan rerata selisih frekuensi kekambuhan kelompok intervensi (mean 1,29±0,61) dan kelompok kontrol (mean 0,79±0,57) dengan nilai p 0,038. Among people with diabetes mellitus (DM), the two common strategies for decreasing peak plantar pressure (PPP) to reduce diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) risks are to modify walking speeds and to change insole materials. This study reviewed the PPP reduction based on various walking speeds and insole materials. The articles were retrieved from four major scientific databases and manual search. We identified 1585 articles, of which 27 articles were selected for full-text analysis. We found that in faster walking speeds, the forefoot PPP was higher (308 kPa) than midfoot (150 kPa) and rearfoot (251 kPa) PPP. The appropriate walking speed for reducing the forefoot PPP was about 6 km/h for non-DM and 4 km/h for DM people. The forefoot PPP in DM people was 185% higher than that of non-DM people. Ethylene–vinyl acetate (EVA) insole material was the most popular material used by experts (26%) in the forefoot and reduced 37% of PPP. In conclusion, the suitable walking speed for DM was slower than for non-DM people, and EVA was the most common insole material used to decrease the PPP under the forefoot. The clinicians might recommend DM people to walk at 4 km/h and wear EVA insole material to minimize the DFUs.

Uncontrolled diabetes might generate the physical and psychological complication. The objective of this study was to analyze the effect of Benson’s relaxation and murottal “Ar-Rahmaan” to the fasting blood glucose (FBG) and stress score. This research was quasi experimental study with two group pre test-post test control group design. The research has been done  in the Health Care Center of Maos and “Graha Amanah” Clinic of Maos. Sample technique used total sampling, with 60 according to the inclusion criteria. The respondents were divided into control group and intervention group. Every group had 30 respondents. The intervention group was given Benson’s relaxation and murottal, menwhile the control group was given the Benson’s relaxation only. This intervention was done twice a day, in the morning and in the afternoon, for 7 days.The results showed the difference of the FBG level before and after intervention between groups (p value=0,000; Z score=- 4,097;Mean+SD intervention group= -66,300+45,672;Mean+SD control group= -23,766+13,438). Benson’s relaxation and murottal therapy could decrease FBG  significantly.

AbstrakEdukasi kepada pasien Diabetes Mellitus (DM) yang dapat memperbaiki hasil klinis adalah Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME). DSME merupakan salah satu metode yang dapat memfasilitasi pengetahuan dan keterampilan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Diabetes Self Management Education terhadap Self Management pada pasien DM. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian quasi experimental dengan control group pre test- post test design. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik Simple random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 46 orang yang terbagi menjadi 23 orang pada kelompok intervensi mendapatkan DSME sebanyak 4 sesi dalam satu bulan dan 23 orang pada kelompok kontrol mendapatkan edukasi dari Program PERSADIA. Instrumen yang digunakan menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis statistik menggunakan Wilcoxon dan Mann Whitney test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa P value uji Wilcoxon test sebesar 0,000 pada kelompok intervensi, P value uji Mann Whitney test adalah 0,000 pada variabel self management. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik didapatkan p<0,05 yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nilai self management antara kelompok intervensi dengan kelompok kontrol secara signifikan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah DSME dapat meningkatkan self management pada pasien DM. Disarankan petugas kesehatan dapat memberikan DSME untuk meningkatkan self management pasien diabetes dan menggunakan DSME sebagai program promosi kesehatan.Kata kunci: Diabetes Mellitus; DSME;Self Management  The Influnce of Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) to the Self Management on the Diabetes Patient AbstractEducation to patients Diabetes Mellitus (DM) who can improve clinical outcomes is Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME). This study is used the quasi experimental research method with control group pre test post test design. The sampling technique used Simple random sampling with a samples of 46 people and it is devided 23 people in the intervention group get DSME as much as 4 sessions in one month and 23 people in the control group get education programe at PERSADIA. The instrument used was questionnaire. Statistical analysis used Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney test. The results showed that P value of Wilcoxon test  was 0.000 in the intervention group, P test value of Mann Whitney test was 0.000 in self management variable. Based on statistical test results obtained p <0.05 which indicates that there are differences in self-management value between the intervention group and the control group significantly. The conclusions of this research is DSME can improve self-management on the patients with diabetes. It is recommended that health workers can provide DSME to improve self-management  in diabetic patients and use DSME as a health promotion program.Keywords  : Diabetes Mellitus, DSME, Self Management

BACKGROUND: Peripheral intravenous catheter (PIVC) is one of the medical devices commonly inserted in hospitalized patients, both adults and pediatrics. PIVC has crucial functions for delivering drugs, fluids, blood transfusions, and diagnostic tests for patients. Thus, nursing students must be confident in terms of insertion and management of this device. However, studies assessing nursing students’ confidence and its determinants are still limited. AIM: This study aims to examine the internship nursing student’s confidence in PIVC insertion and management in adult patients and its contributing factors. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted to measure internship nursing students’ confidence in PIVC cannulation and management in adult patients as well as its contributing factors. Purposive samples of 100 nursing students in Yogyakarta were recruited, and a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire consisting of 19 questions was used. Kruskal–Wallis test was utilized to investigate the association of the internship nursing student confidence on PIVC insertion and maintenance with the factors. A general linear regression analysis was performed to obtain adjusted estimates of the potential factors with students’ confidence. RESULTS: Results indicated that the internship nursing student’s confidence score ranged from 57 to 95, with a mean value of 75 (±8.1). Among determinants of the student’s confidence investigated in this study, t-test analysis showed that the students’ confidence was associated with their participation in expert lecture, bedside teaching, and direct observation of procedural skill assessment of PIVC insertion and care (p < 0.05). The general linear analysis showed that only bedside teaching and interaction of bedside teaching and direct observation procedural skill assessment were significant predictors of the internship nursing student’s confidence on PIVC insertion and care (β = 10.99, 95% confidence interval [CI] 2.00–20.00 and β = 13.15, 95% CI 1.20–25.15, p < 0.05, respectively). CONCLUSION: This result indicated that nursing students need direct simulation and assessment of PIVC insertion and care to the patients to improve their confidence in PIVC insertion and management in adult patients.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients make an effort to prevent complication by implementing self care behavior. Individual perception on this effort is considered important to give optimal result. One factor that influences self care process is religious faith or believing in the role of God. This research aims at finding out the perception of Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients on the presence of God's role in their recovery process along with self care behavior. The research method used in this study was qualitative with fenomenology approach. There were 6 participants chosen using purposive sampling. The data was analyzed with Colaizzy using content thematic technique. The result reveals one big theme that is people keep trying and God is the one who heals. This theme is supported by 2 sub-theme, they are attitude towards self care behavior and the belief that God is the ultimate decision maker for every events in our lives. The patrticipants believe that God has a big role in their recovery process, even so, they also believe that making the effort to take care of themselves is as important. This perception is stated by participants with different religious beliefs. Online Nurse Test for Indonesian Nurse Competency (ONT UKNI) is a mobile application that was developed to help increase the success rate of nurse competency test participants. By using this application, users can learn more about the materials tested and conduct try out as a competency test simulation. However, ONT UKNI has not yet passed adequate testing stages, especially in terms of User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX). The Covid-19 pandemic situation presents challenges in the UI/UX testing process. Testing process which is ideally carried out face-to-face with respondents to get further insight, have to be carried out using another approach following the new normal protocol. This study aims to test the usability of UI/UX with an unmoderated remote testing approach on ONT UKNI application using a USE questionnaire. The test was performed using 26 respondents and all were nursing profession students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Respondents performed 8 tasks on ONT UKNI and answered set of questionnaire that will be tabulated and analyzed. The results indicate that usefulness, ease of learning, and satisfaction variables get the Very Good category while the ease of use variable gets the Good category. Overall, usability testing using an unmoderated remote testing approach can be carried out and able to provide information about areas where users are satisfied with ONT UKNI application. However, some areas still have room for improvement such as better UI design and implementation of gamification.
