Engineering practices indicate that narrow braced excavation exhibits a clear size effect. However, the slip circle method in the design codes fails to consider the effect of excavation width on basal heave stability, causing waste for narrow excavation. In this paper, numerical simulation for basal heave failure of excavation with different widths was performed by FEM with SSRT (shear strength reduction technique). The results revealed that the failure mechanism of narrow excavation is different from the complete slip circle mode. In addition, the safety factor decreases increasingly slowly as the excavation widens and stabilizes when approaching the critical width. Subsequently, the corresponding computation model was presented, and an improved SCM (slip circle method) was further developed. Finally, the engineering case illustrated that it can effectively optimize the design, which exhibits clear superiority.

Purpose – Ride-sharing is an economical, convenient, and environment-friendly way to travel. Robotaxi, which reflects the two themes ”ride-sharing + self-driving”, is in the “going public” stage. Therefore, pre-research on public willingness to use robotaxi is of great significance for the successful realization of “going public” for Robotaxi. Design/Methodology/Approach – This paper conducted theoretical research and empirical analysis on public willingness to use Robotaxi in China from the perspective of ride-sharing, and drew on the UTAUT model of the “authoritative model” for the acceptance and adoption of new technologies to build a theoretical model of willingness to use Robotaxi. Findings – The analysis results show that, in the comprehensive impact of multiple factors, the public’s Perceived Travel Change (PTC) and Perceived Travel Risk (PTR) are the main positive and negative endogenous variable affecting willingness to use Robotaxi. The public’s Perceived Media Impact (PMI) and Perceived Government Support (PGS) are the positive exogenous variables affecting willingness to use Robotaxi and have an impact on endogenous variables, but Perceived Travel Comfort (PTC) has no significant impact on willingness to use Robotaxi. Research Implications – Based on the results of theoretical research and empirical analysis, this paper puts forward some referential suggestions for the “going public” of Robotaxi in the future.

The traditional design method for narrow foundation pits ignores size effects. Engineering practice shows that this is too conservative and causes large-scale waste. In this study, with the help of ABAQUS finite element software, retaining-structure models in semi-infinite and infinite elastic space are used to simulate the mechanical performances of pile-supported structures under different combinations of excavation depth, retaining pile-embedded depth, and excavation width. Furthermore, based on antioverturning stability theory and circular slip theory, the intrinsic relationship among these variables and their effects on the stability of excavation is analysed. Finally, based on the restraint effect of retaining structures on the soil below the pit bottom under actual working conditions, critical width is determined and used to classify foundation pits. Moreover, the applicability of existing codes is discussed. These results can improve the design and construction of narrow excavations, benefitting the construction industry and society in general.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is exploring the existing problems of the barrage video website in view of the current situation that the barrage video website has a great impact on people’s video viewing mod. Design/Methodology/Approach – Ased on marketing, the paper studies the main problems of barrage video website. Based on the case analysis and the marketing theory of 4C, taking BILIBILI as an example, which is the most popular barrage found four main problems of barrage video website: lacking of humanization in UI design, unreasonable video content, copyright disputes and single income model. Therefore, we make four suggestions. Findings – This paper studies precision marketing and smart recommendation, creative advertising improves revenue structure, optimizing user experience, resolving copyright disputes. Research Implications – In the management of this paper, this study has significance in improving the content of barrage video website, spreading positive energy, improving user experience and reducing user cost, which will also provide reference for other scholars’ follow-up research.

For random degradation equipment such as buried natural gas pipeline with cracks, the existing research methods rely more on failure mechanism analysis. However, the construction of failure mechanism models is difficult and complex and has limitations in its use. To overcome these shortcomings, this paper proposes a method based on a nonlinear Wiener degradation model considering the influence of stress. In this method, the effect of stress on the pipe is regarded as a random variable to affect the degradation rate of the pipe, and individual variability is also considered to obtain more accurate reliability assessment results from the nonlinear degradation model. The function of residual life probability density is determined at the first reach failure time. Then, for the degraded small samples, the maximum likelihood estimation is used to estimate the parameters and determine the distribution and reliability functions. The results based on crack data demonstrate the accuracy and validity of the proposed method.
