To detect moving objects in natural scenes by image data, we have developed a new object detection algorithm called Continuous Overlap Pursuit (COP) method. The COP method, which uses continuous plural image data and pursues difference images, can detect moving objects, even with much background noise such as swinging trees, white noise, and changes of brightness and other factors in the image data. The COP method is constructed by basic image processing, so it is applied easily to image processing hardware for real-time recognition.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
