AbstractThis paper illustrates the differences between mechanical and electrical water pumps of internal combustion engine. Literatures have been studied in regard to engine cooling with the water pumps. Main design features of the mechanical and electrical water pumps have been illustrated.Engine dyno tests have been carried to evaluate if increased torque and power can be obtained in a common internal combustion engine (ICE) fitted with an electric water pump. Experiments were conducted to verify the effectiveness of an electrical pump over a standard mechanical pump.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
