The hydrothermalr eactiono fZ n 2+ + ions with a mixture of two ligands, Hcptpya nd H 3 btc (Hcptpy = 4-(4-carboxyphenyl)-2,2':4',4''-terpyridine; H 3 btc = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid), led to the formationo fa3D metal-organic framework (MOF) with 1D channels, [Zn 2 (cptpy)(btc)(H 2 O)] n (1), which was structurally characterized by using single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SXRD). In MOF 1,t wo independentZ n 2+ + ions were interconnected by btc 3À ligands to form a1 D chain, whilst adjacent Zn 2+ + ions were alternatelyb ridged by cptpy À ligandst og eneratea2D sheet,w hich was further linked by 1D chains to form a3 Df ramework with an ew (3,3,4,4)-connected topology.F urthermore, compound 1 also exhibited excellent stability towards air and water and, more importantly,l uminescence experiments indicated that it could serve as ap robe for the sensitive detection of paraquat (PAQ) and Fe 3+ + ions in aqueous solution.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
